The Chaplet of St. Michael the Archangel

INTRODUCTION

One day Michael the Archangel appeared to the devoted Servant of God Antonia d’Astonaco. The Archangel told her that he would like to be honored, and God Glorified, by means of the praying of nine invocations. These nine invocations also correspond to invocations to the nine Choirs of Angels. The Chaplet then consists of one Our Father and three Hail Mary after each invocation honoring each Angelical Choir.

St Michael the Archangel Promised: He promised to those who practice this devotion Glorifying God and honoring the Nine Choirs of Angels, as well as himself, Gabriel and Raphael Archangels, to secure great Blessings from God. He promises to send one Angel from each Choir to accompany the devout practitioners of this Devotion at the time of Holy Communion. In addition, to those who offer these prayers every day, he promises his continued assistance. That is, during Time and Eternity as well as assistance in securing prompt release from Purgatory for the devotee as well as the members of the devotee's family.

You can find the prayers of The Chaplet to St. Michael the Archangel after the next section.

THE ANGELIC CHOIRS AND SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL

Before God created men, He created the Angels, who are pure spirits, that is to say, not composed of matter, although, by Divine Will, they can sometimes present themselves to men under corporeal forms.

The Almighty Lord has given to the Angels extraordinary intelligence and admirable strength, far superior to those of men; He has made them happy and elevated them above their nature, making them partakers of life with God and His children. But He did not give them the possession of the eternal vision of the Divinity without first having put them to the test.

Free beings, knowing God and sustained by His grace, they were able to triumph over the test to which they were subjected. The number of Angels is incalculable - billions.

There are nine choirs or categories of Angels. Lucifer, who was the most beautiful of them, proudly rebelled against the Lord, and took after him in this revolt the third part of his companions. Michael, though inferior in rank to Lucifer, warned his brethren to remain faithful to the Lord. For his faithfulness, he was placed by God at the head of the Angels, while Lucifer was cast into Hell with those who followed him. The faithful Angels were then confirmed in grace.

Let us invoke St. Michael in the fight against the devil and especially to obtain the virtue of humility.

The Apocalypse says that at the end of time St. Michael will appear, who with his angels will defeat the devil and bury him forever in hell. The angels are our brothers and they love us as they love God, because we are members of Jesus Christ; they see us integrated in Him. The Roman Catholic Church has declared St. Michael to be the patron saint of the Church and also the patron of the dying and the dying; it is he who brings into the presence of God the souls of those who leave this world. Oh, how he will defend in a special way the cause of those who have entrusted themselves to him in life, giving him special devotion and spreading his devotion!

The Example of the Teaching of the Roman Catholic Pontiffs

For devotees of the Roman Catholic Faith, but also for other Christians, we advise you to listen to the exalted position of St. Michael recognized by the Roman Pontiffs, when the Vatican had not yet fallen into the hands of the Antichrist. It is not necessary to be a Catholic to perceive the importance of the Archangel Michael in the End Times.

The age in which we live is characterized, in the words of the last Pontiffs, beginning with Leo XIII, as the age of apostasy, in which Lucifer and his henchmen are hurling themselves against the Church with all their fury, trying to replace the true faith with materialism, corruption, spiritism, black magic – in a word, with the cult of Satan and his principles. Knowing this, by revelation made to him, Pope Leo XIII himself ordered that, at the end of all Masses, prayers be said to St. Michael, so that with his heavenly armies he might protect the Holy Church and save her children from perdition. This prayer was obligatory until the new liturgical reform [of Vatican II], but nothing prevents us from praying it privately.

It is important to rekindle our faith in St. Michael. Let there be no house that does not have his image, at least a picture of him. Before the new liturgical reform, there were two feasts of St. Michael for the universal Church: one on May 8, when we celebrate his apparition on Mount Gargano in Italy, and the other on September 29. Now we only have the latter, together with St. Gabriel and St. Raphael.

If the authority of the Supreme Pontiffs has made St. Michael the Patron of the Universal Church, it would be foolish for some not to want to take advantage of the ample help that this Archangel Prince, crowned by God as Supreme Chief of the Angelic Militia, wants to render to all in the fight against the devil. St. Michael said to a nun, "Tell everyone how much I can [do] together with the Most High; tell them to ask me for whatever they want, for my power is great before God."

The Chaplet of St. Michael the Archangel

Method to Pray this Chaplet

The Chaplet is begun by praying the following invocation:

O God, come to my assistance; O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit now and ever and unto ages of ages - Amen!

After each of the following Invocations one prays: One Our Father and three Hail Mary:

1. By the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel and the celestial Choir of Seraphim, may the Lord make us worthy to burn with the fire of perfect charity. Amen! — Our Father, 3 Hail Mary

2. By the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel and the celestial Choir of Cherubim, may the Lord vouchsafe to grant us the grace to leave the ways of wickedness and to run in the paths of Christian perfection. Amen! — Our Father, 3 Hail Mary

3. By the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel and the celestial Choir of Thrones, may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere spirit of humility. Amen! — Our Father, 3 Hail Mary

4. By the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel and the celestial Choir of Dominions, may the Lord give us grace to govern our senses and subdue our unruly passions. Amen! — Our Father, 3 Hail Mary

5. By the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel and the celestial Choir of Powers, may the Lord vouchsafe to protect our souls against the snares and temptations of the devil. Amen! — Our Father, 3 Hail Mary

6. By the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel and the celestial Choir of Virtues, may the Lord preserve us from evil and suffer us not to fall into temptation. Amen! — Our Father, 3 Hail Mary

7. By the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel and the celestial Choir of Principalities, may God fill our souls with a true spirit of obedience. Amen! — Our Father, 3 Hail Mary

8. By the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel and the celestial Choir of Archangels, may the Lord give us perseverance in faith and in all good works, in order that we gain the glory of Paradise. Amen! — Our Father, 3 Hail Mary

9. By the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel and the celestial Choir of Angels, may the Lord grant us to be protected by them in this mortal life and conducted hereafter to eternal glory. Amen! — Our Father, 3 Hail Mary

Now we pray one Our Father each in honor of the following:

Michael the Archangel, Gabriel the Archangel, Raphael the Archangel and the Guardian Angel of the individual offering the Chaplet.

The Chaplet is concluded with the following Prayers:

To Michael the Archangel

O Glorious Prince St. Michael the Archangel, chief and commander of the Heavenly Hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits, servant in the House of the Divine King, and our admirable conductor, thou who dost shine with excellence and superhuman virtue, vouchsafe to deliver us from all evil, who turn to thee with confidence, and enable us by thy gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day.

Pray for us, O glorious St. Michael, prince of the Elect of Jesus Christ.
That we may be made worthy of His promises.

To God the Father

Almighty and Everlasting God, who by a prodigy of goodness and a merciful desire for the salvation of all men, has appointed the most glorious Archangel, St. Michael, Prince of The Elect, make us worthy, we beseech Thee, to be delivered from all our enemies that none of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be conducted by him into the august presence of Thy Divine Majesty. This we beg though the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen!
