St. John Bosco
(1815-1888) was the
recipient of many prophetic
dreams, which are recorded in
seven large volumes. These dreams were so vivid and so frequent that he
often dreaded going to bed.
His most famous dream, "The Vision of the Two Columns", is
reproduced below in his own words.
As one ponders on
Don Boscos' vision, one
cannot help asking the questions:
On May 30, 1862 , Don Bosco recounted that in a dream he had seen an immense sea on which a great many ships were arranged for battle against a larger and taller ship. He also saw others which were defending the tall ship. Here are his words:
"In the midst of this endless sea, two solid columns, a short distance apart, soar high into the sky. One is surmounted by a statue of the Immaculate Virgin, at whose feet a large inscriptions reads:" 'Auxilium Christianorum' ('Help of Christians') . The other, far loftier and sturdier, supports a Host of proportionate size, and bears beneath it the inscription: 'Salus credentium' ('Salvation of believers').
"The flagship commander - the Roman Pontiff- standing at the helm, strains every muscle to steer his ship between the two columns, from whose summits hang many anchors and strong hooks linked to chains. The entire enemy fleet closes in to intercept and sink the flagship at all costs. They bombard it with everything they have: books and pamphlets, incendiary bombs, firearms, cannons. The battle rages ever more furious. Beaked prows ram the flagship again and again, but to no avail, as, unscathed and undaunted, it keeps on it course. At times, a formidable ram splinters a gaping hole in its hull, but immediately, a breeze from the two columns instantly seals the gash.
"Meanwhile, enemy cannons blow up; firearms and beaks fall to pieces; ships crack up and sink to the bottom. In blind fury, the enemy takes to hand-to-hand combat, cursing and blaspheming. Suddenly the Pope falls, seriously wounded. He is instantly helped up, but struck a second time, dies. A shout of victory rises from the enemy, and wild rejoicing seeps their ships. But no sooner is the Pope dead than another takes his place. The captains of the auxiliary ships elected him so quickly that the news of the Pope's death coincides with that of his successor's election. The enemy's self-assurance wanes.
"Breaking through all resistance, the new Pope steers his ship safely between the two columns; first, to the one surmounted by the Host, and then the other, topped by the statue of the Virgin. At this point, something unexpected happens. The enemy ships panic and disperse, colliding with and scuttling each other.
"Some auxiliary ships, which had gallantly fought alongside their flagship, are the first to tie up at the two columns. Many others, which had fearfully kept far away from the fight, stand still, cautiously waiting until the wrecked enemy ships vanish under the waves. Then they too head for the two columns, tie up at the swinging hooks and ride safe and tranquil beside their flagship. A great calm now covers the sea. " (memoirs, Vol. VII. Pages 107-108).

In many prophetic dreams of Don Bosco, he
is given a view of "Now" and a
view of "What it should be
like in the
future". With such information or action plan given to him by
Heaven, Don Bosco "rolls up his sleeves" and gets to work toward the
goal pointed out
by Heaven in the Prophetic Dream.
However, he can only do what is within
his reach. Even if he had been alive when Our Lady of Fatima made the
very special
requests to the Roman Catholic Church Administrators, there was
nothing
Don Bosco could have done. It was the Pope - and no one else - who in
union
with the Bishops who had to consecrate Russia - not the world - to the
Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Sadly enough - we had to wait for the election of H.H. John XXIII for said "sleeves to be rolled up" for action - but it was much too late. By that time, just as Mary said through Her Garabandal podium: "Less and less importance was being given to the Eucharist".
Once John XIII read the
third part of the Secret of Fátima he clearly saw what he
had to do. The Vatican II Council was
convened in
an effort to soften the blows that awaited the Church and world while,
by
default, Don Bosco's dream had a chance of being fulfilled.
H.H. Paul VI continues
the Council until its completion and passes on to his Heavenly reward.
Now, the implementation of the results produced by Second Vatican
Council would be carried out by the next Pope.
H.H. John Paul I is elected ("John" in
honor of John XXIII and "Paul" in honor of Paul VI) to implement and
consolidate the gains achieved by his namesakes. However, 33 days after
his election he unexpectedly dies. H.H. John Paul II is then elected.
All of this happens so rapidly that Don
Bosco's dream that "The captains of
the
auxiliary ships elected him so quickly that the news of the Pope's
death coincides with that of his
successor's election." is fulfilled in mystical terms.
Cardinal Karol Wojtyla takes his
predecessor's name, symbolizing that he will continue his path. He
"rolls up his sleeves" to, essentially, bring to fulfillment Don
Bosco's Dream: "Breaking through all
resistance, the new Pope steers
his ship
safely between the two columns;
first, to the one surmounted by the Host, and then the other, topped by
the statue of the Virgin."
Unfortunately, there were
other plans
for
him, just as Jesus warned: "Amen,
amen, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to dress yourself
and go where you wanted; but when you grow old, you will stretch
out your hand, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you
do not want to go" [John
21:18]
Therefore, for the "Happy
Ending" of Don Bosco's dream to take place, Jesus will have to take the
place of the Pope in said vision and directly
intervene in a devastating manner so that not only Don Bosco's dream is
symbolically fulfilled but for the fulfillment of the greatest prophecy
of the last
two centuries made by the Queen of Prophets Herself will fully
fulfilled: "In the end, My
Immaculate Heart will triumph".
It IS that simple!
