On the Vigil Mass of the Assumption we read.... ...a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you." He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it." [Luke 11:27-28]

This is an often read Gospel for those who frequently participate in the Holy Sacrament of the Mass, yet, it is not fully understood.

In spite of the tremendous importance (1) that the Virgin Mary has, Jesus clearly teaches that is far more important to "...hear the word of God and obey it." than to have been His Mother.

Isn't it amazing how quickly the faithful gloss over the fundamentals of Christianity, as the verses above (and others (2) ) teach us – and instead fall into textbook idolatry, which has been condemned practically from the first page of the Holy Scriptures?

Then, we clamor to God when the "light at the end of the tunnel of our difficulties" turns out to be an oncoming freight train, destined to "finish us up".

Sometimes the weight of the cross and chaos of the world make it hard to hear His voice, when He is all I seek, and desire... knowing He is within me, but yet, in human weakness wishing for his imminent return to put an end to all the wickedness in the world... and here are his words, speaking loud and clear.

As an aside, I visited the page 'Sequence...' (2) and found the final note with today's date (August 13th). It struck me as something very important. So, is this it?
I feel great changes coming, so quickly, that I am trying to give my children joyful moments and quality time, taking in the beauty of nature and every moment which offers a chance to love, forgive, build up, prepare... knowing everything will soon change.

Did you know that.... bigger Solar flares may cause year-long blackouts and a nuclear crisis? (1)



The M+G+R Foundation comments: Most interesting is the fact that International Business Times pulled the article - cache copy included - in less than 24 hours.

The quotes were from the article (1) which was captured by Energy International before it vanished from the International Business Times.

Although the experts speak of an activity peak by 2013 that does not mean that such a catastrophic failure could not happen tomorrow.

Because of that, we wish to remind you now of the "abilities" of individual countries and the international community to help the citizenry. To refresh your memory: New Orleans' Katrina, Haiti's and Japan's earthquakes, ongoing massacres in Libya and Syria by their own governments, the current (and unresolved) financial mega-crisis, severe famine and drought in Africa, etc., etc. and ETC.!

Our point: We must work on placing our trust in God because there is NO OTHER HOPE or SOLUTION. Period! By the time most find this out through God's Megaphone (2), it will be too late.

Meanwhile, we in the US have the word "God" plastered practically everywhere, and pretend to be more Christian than Jesus Christ – while capital punishment "reigns supreme," especially in Texas, a state "piously" led by Gov. Perry of "The Response" fame, and who now wants to lead the whole country.

Have you heard that.... the Seal Team 6 that recently died in Afghanistan as the result of an attack, allegedly by the Taliban, is the same one that participated in the alleged elimination of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan?

The "I Just Can't Believe The Unmitigated Gall" Award for the month of August.... goes to an article in a Spanish magazine (1) titled "Kings of Jerusalem".

The first few sentence of this scholarly (?) article, translated into English, reads as follows:

God is indeed the Only Judge, but we must act decisively, on His behalf, to protect the souls of the innocent at risk. Yes, with much Mercy but also with the firmness of hardened steel.

Do we have to explain to any of our readers why we are giving the article in TIEMPO Magazine the "I Just Can't Believe The Unmitigated Gall (2)" award for the month of August, and why we are awarding Rev. J. S.'s Sunday Bulletin text the "honorable" mention?

Last week I woke one morning with the scripture "Perfect love casts out fear" [1 John 4:18] uppermost in my thoughts.

Recent Divine Encouragements have been addressing that same passage.

Am I correct in assuming that if depression is a 'state of fear' as presented, that all depression or even discouragement has its source in the evil one?

If so, how can one communicate this giant hoodwink to the sufferer?

How best does one pray for sufferers?

I would appreciate some elaboration on this topic as fear is endemic in our times.  Our young folk and our elderly are particularly susceptible I feel.

Thank you for your faithful witness and sharing of Divine truth that lights up our darkness.

A. The importance/seriousness of the issues covered in your letter demands that it be brought to the top of the "must be answered" list.

The facts that you recently woke up with the scripture "Perfect love casts out fear" while He was addressing that particular issue repeatedly through our pages, should give everyone reason to pause. Why? Because He is reminding us that the world is plunging into a situation where today's threat will be nothing compared with the threat that we will face tomorrow. He knows that the only way to navigate through such dangerous waters is with increased faith and that we should work on that facet of our spiritual journey in earnest. But first, let us understand "fear".

Healthy "fear" is what keeps us safe from harm. We must avoid physical threats but not to the level of paranoia. For example, when crossing a street we must make sure that there is no oncoming traffic. That is healthy. To avoid going out our front door for fear of being struck by a car is paranoia.

Fear about an undetermined/unknown future threat should move us to do whatever is reasonably within our power to protect ourselves from it - and the rest is up to God. A key word here is "reasonably". We should wear a belt or suspenders when wearing a pair of slacks that do not have an elastic waist band. That is a reasonable behavior. Using a belt and suspenders when a pair of slacks has an elastic waist band is not reasonable; that would indicate a serious feeling of insecurity.

Insecurity may have a spiritual, psychological or physical reason and it is here that the situation gets very complicated. For example, miguel once assisted a young lady who was diagnosed to have a severe bipolar disorder for which she was under lithium treatment. Through the Grace of God, miguel realized that her problem was neither psychological nor spiritual; it was purely physiological. She was suffering from hypoglycemia. Within two weeks of balancing her sugar intake she was off lithium and "cured" from the gravely misdiagnosed bipolar disorder.

In an almost reverse case, a young man in a small Portuguese town achieved a complete, but natural and healthy conversion; something to which miguel can testify. His family and neighbors - all "church goers" - concluded that he had become mentally ill. They placed him in a mental institution where he was kept under heavy sedation for "his condition".  When miguel found out about this, upon returning from the US, he intervened and the young man was released. The only thing wrong with him at this time was the sequel left in his organism by months of psychotropic drugs (1) forced upon him at the mental institution. Once miguel left the area, and because the young man decided to walk to Fatima, as thousands upon thousands of Portuguese do every year, his mother placed him back into the institution. satan took advantage of the physical and psychological damage inflicted on that poor young man as the result of having become a true believer and not just a "church goer" and.... one day, during an extended visit at home.... when his mother opened her window in the morning what she saw was her son dangling from a tree - he had committed suicide.

A traumatic experience can cause psychological fear. Generally, this is a specific fear and not generalized. For example, if a child is severely harmed by a dog, the child may grow up with fear of all dogs - but, most likely, of nothing else. The child, now an adult, may visit a Zoo and be very close to many wild animals and have a most enjoyable time. Then, as said individual exits the Zoo a stray dog barks menacingly at him/her. At that moment he/she may just go into panic as the old "mental tapes" of his/her experience as a child start playing back in his/her mind. This is, of course, assuming that said individual had not gone to therapy to overcome the terrible childhood experience.

Now, to the question: Does all depression or even discouragement have its source in the evil one? The answer is "No", but satan will certainly take advantage to the situation to make it as bad as it can possibly get. Remember what He said: The powers of evil watch you as a besieging force would watch a guarded city - the object being always to find some weak spot, attack that, and so gain an entrance. So evil lurks around you, and seeks to surprise you in some fear.

Therefore, it is safe to treat it as a spiritual malady, while at the same time one must explore if there are physical or psychological reasons at the root of the depression or fear which satan is taking advantage of.

Your other question is: How best does one pray for sufferers? Pray that God grants them more faith up to the level that He may have ordained for that particular individual from all Eternity.

Second to prayer, the best remedy to help those who are suffering is through understanding and example. Healthy fearlessness is contagious and witnessing how a person with strong faith functions, opens up the soul of the individual so that God may be able to work His pleasure in it, and draw it closer to Him - with the resulting effect of an increased faith.

We pray to God that we have been able to answer your concerns fully by condensing the theology, psychology and physiology of fear down to a page and a half. We beg your and God's forgiveness if we have failed.

That France, Australia and Japan have confidence in US Bonds means nothing - considering that post-earthquake Japan needs a miracle to get on its feet (assuming that they finally get a stable government and not the revolving door government that they have had as of late), and France needs a miracle to avoid being sunk together with the rest of European Union, as the Eurozone collapses economically (while all expect France and Germany to bail the rest out).

Since God is, as the saying goes, "plum out of  miracles" for those who have "made a career" of ignoring Him, the only way ahead is down since no miracles will be forthcoming.

Our eyes could not believe.... the letter that we have just received from Elizabeth Ennis from The Response! National Mobilization Team.

As you may recall, on July 18th we wrote the following letter to them:

We have been informed that.... Texas Governor Rick Perry, in an historic move that has not taken place in our lifetime, is calling for a National Solemn Assembly called The Response: A Call to Prayer for a Nation in Crisis, on Saturday, August 6, 2011, in Reliant Stadium (indoors) in Houston, Texas. In a letter dated May 18, 2011 inviting the 49 other Governors to join him, Governor Perry cited the book of Joel as the answer for the challenges facing America. Scripture is clear. When the Lord moves a governmental official to sound a trumpet to pray, the response is to come and cry out to the Lord together.

On August 6th, there will be no political agenda, no merchandise sold, no ministries promoted, no literature distributed and no offering taken. Registration is free. This event will not promote any denomination or organization. It will simply be those who love God and love America responding to Gov. Perry's invitation to get on our knees together to ask for His mercy, guidance, wisdom and provision.”

The M+G+R Foundation comments: James Richard "Rick" Perry (born March 4, 1950) is the 47th and current Governor of Texas, having held the office since December 2000. He is a member of the Republican Party.

Perry supports the death penalty. On June 2, 2009, Texas carried out the 200th execution since Perry assumed the office of governor. (2) The executions have continued unabated since then; the most recent was on July 7, 2011.

Gov. Perry says that "Scripture is clear" and indeed it is....

God gave Moses the Tablets with the Commandments written by His Own Finger and one of those Commandments is "Thou shalt not kill." [Exodus 20:13 and Deut. 5:17]

This is a prohibition that God clearly had established even before the Commandments were given to Moses, i.e., when He condemned Cain.

And Cain said to the Lord: My iniquity is greater than that I may deserve pardon.  Behold thou dost cast me out this day from the face of the earth, and I shall be hidden from thy face, and I shall be a vagabond and a fugitive on the earth: every one, therefore, that findeth me, shall kill me. And the Lord said to him: No, it shall not be so: but whosoever shall kill Cain, shall be punished sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, that whosoever found him should not kill him. [Gen. 4:13-15]

Mr. Perry's prayers will be ignored by Heaven for the reasons clearly given by the same Book of Scripture he is invoking....

[11] To what purpose do you offer me the multitude of your victims, saith the Lord? I am full, I desire not holocausts of rams, and fat of fatlings, and blood of calves, and lambs, and buck goats. [12] When you came to appear before me, who required these things at your hands, that you should walk in my courts? [13] Offer sacrifice no more in vain: incense is an abomination to me. The new moons, and the sabbaths, and other festivals I will not abide, your assemblies are wicked. [14] My soul hateth your new moons, and your solemnities: they are become troublesome to me, I am weary of bearing them. [15] And when you stretch forth your hands, I will turn away my eyes from you: and when you multiply prayer, I will not hear: for your hands are full of blood.

[16] Wash yourselves, be clean, take away the evil of your devices from my eyes: cease to do perversely, [17] Learn to do well: seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge for the fatherless, defend the widow. [18] And then come, and accuse me, saith the Lord: if your sins be as scarlet, they shall be made as white as snow: and if they be red as crimson, they shall be white as wool. Theology underscored centuries later by God Himself in the Person of Jesus:

Go then and learn what this meaneth, I will have mercy and not sacrifice. For I am not come to call the just, but sinners. [Matt. 9:13]

Not all prayer is good or acceptable by God. Some of it may be a grievous offense to God because of the duplicity of its source: an offense which will aggravate the situation further.

Most will not learn that God does not play word games until they cross the veil and find themselves in the proverbial wrong side of the tracks.

It is interesting that Gov. Perry, a non-Catholic, has chosen for the prayer date one of the most important Liturgical dates for Catholicism - August 6th.

On this date,  Catholics celebrate the Transfiguration of Our Lord [Matt. 17:1-3], although it also coincides with the Anniversary of the Nuclear Devastation in Hiroshima, Japan

God will hear their prayers just as they heard us. Any other comment from our part would cause us to be uncharitable.


It is indeed amazing that... when we publish on this forum material like what we did on August 3rd and 4th (the "woes to" and the "blessed are"), the access to this forum consistently drops by about 30 %; sometimes even more.

Considering that we do not have "mind readers" in our audience (that is, the page is not being avoided because the subject matter is considered undesirable by ca. 30 % of our regular readers), what we are seeing is that the page is not being referred to others by our regular readers at the normal clip.

We will let the Holy Spirit of God reveal to those who have Eyes to See and Ears to Hear among our regular readership what this means; however, know that it is not a pretty picture, we assure you. What a shame.


In case that you have not heard yet.... The House Judiciary Committee passed a bill through to the House that would mandate American Internet providers retain their users' information for 12 months, according to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF). H.R. 1821 would require ISPs to keep "personal information that could be used to identify what Web sites you visit and what content you post online."

This bill was opposed by politicians from both parties, as well as by 30 privacy groups. That didn't stop the Judiciary committee from voting for it, 19 to 10. See ReadWriteWeb's coverage of the bill in terms of its possible violation of the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. (1)

The M+G+R Foundation comments: The concern here is, of course, the misuse of the information. Such monitoring would have been useful in the case of the Norwegian mass murderer, but, you and I know that it will be used for the wrong purposes in order to "frame" whoever needs to be "framed".

Your conversations, which are surely stored somewhere in cyberspace, can be recomposed, word by word, to say something that you would not have even thought of saying! Then, it is up to you to prove that it was not you making those (recomposed) statements!

One often hears... people complaining that "...all God say is don't do this, or don't do that, or woes to you for this or that. Is there anything that we can do?"

Allow us to explain the incredible freedom those "don't" and "woes to" affords humanity. We will use a parable that all will understand well.

Absolute freedom is the result of knowing with complete certainty what to avoid when making a choice because then.... the infinite options the world presents to you are there for your safe picking.

Continuing with the parable.

There you have it: total freedom to succeed without the risk of failing.  It just cannot get any better! It really can't!

Who has not heard.... the Roman Catholic Administration invoking the specter of ex-communication to control and manipulate Kings as well as individuals over the centuries?

If the targets of such threats had read the Scriptures, they would have promptly "thumbed their nose" at the Vatican and kept on going.

In Sunday's Mass Epistle we read:

A reading which is fully anchored on the Gospel of John:

Of course, like any earthly organization, the Roman Catholic Church can (and has the right) expel a member from its rolls, but that is about all they can do. Membership in the Roman Catholic Church is not a requirement for Salvation (1), and it never was, nor will it ever be.

Ironically, it is the Roman Catholic Church Administration who has invoked their own "latae sententiae" excommunication against themselves. (Such excommunication is automatic, occurring at the moment of committing the offense for which canon law imposes that penalty). The Church Administration has been excommunicated (separated) from the true Mystical Body of Christ for centuries, for wanton betrayal and disregard of explicit Divine Laws and teachings of Jesus Christ (which are above any canon law).  If that were not enough, they have persistently caused scandal for the last 1600 years. Jesus is very clear about the consequences of scandal and what scandal symbolizes.

Let us not forget that the Mystical Body of Christ is composed by those who are striving with every breath to do the Will of the Father...   


...and no one else.

When will these disoriented souls realize that the moral of the story of the Emperor's Clothing applies to them? In many places in Spain - yes, "Super Catholic Spain" - people have even taken the Church authorities  to court, demanding that their names be erased from the Roman Catholic Church records.

For a laugh or a tear (depending on your mood at the time) take a look at the list of individuals (2) the Roman Catholic Church Administration has excommunicated over the centuries.

But remember.... DO NOT confuse the Pristine Catholic Faith (3) with the Scandalous Roman Catholic Church Administration (4). There is a difference, and that difference is what caused the Papacy of Albino Luciani - John Paul I - to last only 33 days. May those who have eyes, See, and ears, Hear!

Have you heard that.... even Israelis are demonstrating against their government because the financial squeeze on the middle class? (1)

Most municipal authorities have declared a one-day strike scheduled for Monday, in sympathy with popular protests spreading throughout Israel.

Municipalities will not be giving services to government offices or holding public office hours today, streets will not be cleaned and garbage will not be collected.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu redoubled efforts to douse growing protests spreading throughout the country Sunday, even as he faced a setback in the resignation of Finance Ministry Director General Haim Shani.


The M+G+R Foundation comments: Popular protests have had a participation in excess of one hundred and fifty thousand average citizens. Many have voiced, through European news services, their complaints that the gap between the poor and the rich elite is widening fast.

That is an economic problem that cannot be blamed "on the Jews", as seems to be customary amongst anti Semites.

Do you wonder if.... all the hype associated with the comet Elenin is no more than a psy-op to focus the people's attention on something in one direction, while a truly significant event happens from another direction, where nobody expects it?

A frequent contributor from the scientific community has addressed this very serious issue so that we may share it with our readership. (Dr.) IW writes:

• Over and over, I see someone starting with the drift in the magnetic poles, attributing it to the comet, then conflating it with axis shift, something entirely different.
• One example of that, with a lot of attention (4), showing video of the sun rising at the Antarctic Neumayer station in early June, as proof of axis shift.  He conflates Neumayer station (at the coast, roughly at the Antarctic Circle) with Amundsen-Scott station, which is at the pole
• Poor Leonid Elenin.  The man has done interviews on TV, showed ID, and still these people insist he doesn't exist because his name fits their codes too well  (ELE - extinction level event, from the movie "Deep Impact", NIN being some Sumerian goddess, and Leonid being the incoming direction of the comet)
• The general level of scientific ignorance is staggering, which I will forgive, but what troubles me is how obvious most of the mistakes are, and how prevalent they are.  Even by American standards, it is suspiciously high (many of these people must surely know better)
• Every detail is spun into proof of deception by government.  For example, the orbit of Elenin is plotted by NASA as a series of tangents rather than a smooth curve.  Nobody notices the straight line segments, but much is made of the fact there are "corners!  Everyone knows an orbit doesn't have corners".
• Everyone urges preparation, mostly material.  Some urge prayer as an afterthought, but those are prayers of supplication, not reparation.

The M+G+R Foundation comments: Indeed it is hard to believe that so much effort is invested in something that obviously is of no importance to humanity, unless there is a definite agenda behind it - such as a very effective psy-op.
