The purpose of this News Commentary Section is to assist the faithful in recognizing the signs and lies of These End Times. Somehow, many self appointed Shepherds of These Times are trying to convince the faithful that the Apocalypse will be, using street slang, "a piece of cake" for them and "hell" for all others. They are led to believe that if they "do this" and "do that" they do not have a thing to worry about (of course, so long as that between the "do this" and the "do that" they send in a donation).

Others lead the faithful to believe that "All Is Well" and will continue to be, of course, as long as those donations keep coming in...

Wrong! For either case scenario to be true, the Old and New Testament have to be invalid. Logically, if the Holy Scriptures are invalid there is no use for "Shepherds", is there? So what is their function besides collecting money?

....he made little mention of Bush's Democratic challenger John Kerry, saying: "Your security is not in the hands of Kerry or Bush or al-Qaida. Your security is in your own hands....

VATICAN CITY, OCT. 19, 2004 (Zenit.org) - If John Paul II and the Church is little heard today (1), it is partly due to "powerful cultural, economic and political pressure groups," says Cardinal Renato Martino, president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.

According to the cardinal, there are today "new holy inquisitions full of money and arrogance" that are motivated "by prejudice" against everything that is Christian.

As we have said before, if we were in charge of coaching The Vatican and the White House in order that the Steps Leading to the End of These Times were fulfilled just as miguel de Portugal published them in 1992, we simply could not do any better than they are.

NEWS - Putin Offers Hand to Bush in U.S. Election

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan (Reuters) - October 18, 2004 - - Russian President Vladimir Putin, siding with President Bush two weeks before the U.S. election, said Monday that armed attacks in Iraq were staged by "international terrorism" out to block his re-election.

"The attacks of international terrorism in Iraq are directed not only at international coalition forces but at President Bush personally," said Putin, speaking in the Tajik capital. "International terrorism has given itself the goal of causing maximum damage to Bush in the election battle, the goal of blocking the re-election of Bush for a second presidential term," he told a news conference.

As we have stated many times, political activism is not part of the function of The M+G+R Foundation. miguel de Portugal's position is, of course, the same, - except when politicians start using and abusing the Holy Name of God or when the fattened Shepherds, more interested in their survival and the survival of their very worldly institutions, enter the fray to manipulate the faithful to suit their very temporal needs.

It seems that the central theme of the upcoming U.S. Presidential elections has become the claimed Pro-Life and the alleged Pro-Death stance of the candidates in question. Data and statistics talk louder than demagoguery. Therefore, since the only data that we had about the claimed Pro-Life camp was: (1) Record "legal" executions in Texas; and (2) the Middle East drowning in the daily bloodbath of the children of the U.S. and the Middle Eastern countries - including Israel, we requested from the appropriate parties if there were any abortion statistics for the last 10 to 14 years. We thought that perhaps, in spite of the bloodbath of innocent children of God in the Middle East, the claimed Pro-Life candidate had done more to protect the life of the unborn than just issue meaningless and toothless directives.

One of our readers just forwarded to us an article that provides such statistics. Our reader, utilizing segments of the article, answered our questions. Now, we, in turn share such information with those who are truly seeking the truth. If you have better concrete statistics that would disprove the above, please forward them to us. If they merit publication, they will be given "equal time". Please refrain from giving your opinions on this matter or providing hearsay data - communications of that nature will be deleted without further ado.

The Statistics Received

I look at the fruits of political policies more than words. I analyzed the data on abortion during the George W. Bush presidency. There is no single source for this information - federal reports go only to 2000, and many states do not report - but I found enough data to identify trends. My findings are counterintuitive and disturbing. Abortion was decreasing. When President Bush took office, the nation's abortion rates were at a 24-year low, after a 17.4% decline during the 1990s. This was an average decrease of 1.7% per year, mostly during the latter part of the decade. (This data comes from Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life using the Guttmacher Institute's studies).

When George W. Bush assumes the leadership of the United States in 2001, one would expect the abortion rate to continue its consistent course downward, if not plunge if we judge by the level of pro-life rhetoric. Instead, the opposite happened. I found three states that have posted multi-year statistics through 2003, and abortion rates have risen in all three:

NEWS - Group of Bishops Using Influence to Oppose Kerry

DENVER (New York Times) - October 9, 2004 - For Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, the highest-ranking Roman Catholic prelate in Colorado, there is only one way for a faithful Catholic to vote in this presidential election, for President Bush and against Senator John Kerry.

"The church says abortion is a foundational issue,'' the archbishop explained to a group of Catholic college students gathered in a sports bar here in this swing state on Friday night. He stopped short of telling them whom to vote for, but he reminded them of Mr. Kerry's support for abortion rights. And he pointed out the potential impact his re-election could have on Roe v. Wade.

Archbishop Chaput, a friend and an obvious collaborator of Opus Dei, by his actions, continues to insist, like Escrivá did, that temporal power is greater than spiritual power. This has been the hallmark of certain key Administrators of the Roman Catholic Church since they fraudulently claimed that Emperor Constantine had Willed the Roman Empire to it.

From then on, it has been downhill for the world and for the Catholic Faithful who have placed their trust in those whom they thought "knew best" instead of trusting the Pristine Catholic Faith delivered through, and in spite of, said Church.

Oh, yes - Archbishop Chaput and others are most certainly the descendants of the original Apostles... but let no one forget that Judas Iscariot was also an Apostle appointed by Jesus Christ Himself!

Where do we find Jesus Christ - Who came down from Heaven to give us a visible example of how we were to live our lives since the religious leaders had persistently turned a deaf ear to all prophets sent before - engaging in political activism? The Roman Empire was crushing His people and they had a terrible "human rights violation record", yet, did He lead a political revolt against the political oppressor of His people? No! Who was the one who, according to historical experts and biblical implications, was hoping that Jesus would lead a revolution against the Roman Empire? Judas Iscariot!

We ask you then: Would you cast your vote for Archbishop Chaput and associates or for Jesus Christ?

Brethren, this is not about politics... this is about leading the unsuspecting faithful down the Primrose Path to hell.

NEWS - Warsaw's mayor battles sex industry over "World sex championships"

WARSAW (AFP) - October 8, 2004 - Warsaw's right-wing mayor has become embroiled in another battle with the flourishing sex industry in deeply Catholic Poland by attempting to ban a highly-publicized "world sex championships."

The organisers of an erotic fair in the Polish capital said Thursday they would defy an order from the mayor's office and go ahead and stage a "test" for the woman who can carry out a sex act with as many men as possible.

The hosts of the four-day "Eroticon" festival, taking place for the fifth year running, would not reveal time or place for the competition, but promised to beat the world sex record.

This is another example of the fruits of the "freedom" and "democratization" of Poland - the birth place of H.H. John Paul II - and a 90 % Catholic country. This is the result of the much touted fall of the "evil empire" and what many have dared to call the "Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary"!

Wake up people! This is precisely what the Islamic world is determined to prevent happening in their countries. Unfortunately, the World Masters and the apparent mindless zombies who blindly follow them will only understand this when the world is completely awash in its own blood.

As we have said before and say again: If this is what it will take for man to pay attention to God and return the right path, He Will allow it. It will not be the first time... but it will certainly be the last time!

NEWS - The Vatican Shows its anti-Russian, Aanti-American and anti-Semitic hand

ROMA - Italia (L'Espresso online) - September, 2004

A political editorials published on September 5 in "Avvenire" [the newspaper, directed by Dino Boffo, that is owned by the Italian bishops' conference, headed by the pope's vicar, Cardinal Camillo Ruini] and penned by Maurizio Blondet, a special correspondent and a columnist of the newspaper, let the anti-Russian and anti-Semitism that pervades much of the higher echelons of the Vatican seep through like some poisonous venom.

Blondet begins by charging Putin with this fault:

"Labeling nationalist combatants as Islamic terrorists has been a convenient justification for the most inhuman form of
repression: one does not negotiate with terrorists or criminals. One uproots them."

But then he extends the criticism to the West. And in particular, to the heads of the United States and Israel:

"Analogous accusations can be applied to Bush and Sharon. The fair-haired Kremlin tsar is accused of capitalizing on the fear of his people, presenting himself as an iron-fisted protector, while his inflexibility has, in reality, added to the insecurity. This is true. But then why is it politically incorrect to raise the same objections about the ‘born-again Christian’ from Texas and the obese general of Tel Aviv?

None of the three – if one considers well – is exempt from suspicions of having exploited collective fear for his electoral advantage, or of using the necessary restrictions of liberty brought by the 'war on terror' to silence his critics and adversaries."

We are happy to see that the Vatican agrees with our assessment of "going too far" regarding the inappropriate use of the altars and altar areas of a Roman Catholic Church.

Now, the real struggle begins. To take away the Sanctuary of Fátima from the control of the Portuguese Catholic Church is much, much easier said than done. Rome forgets that in Portugal, attempts to, or real threats of, public lynching as the result of political vendettas is still "normal" We know very well who is behind both sides and the interaction is going to be most interesting. Tragically and as usual, it will be damaging to the Faith.

NEWS - Miraculous' Christ Washes Up in Texas Rio Grande

MONTERREY, Mexico (Reuters) - September 28, 2004 - A fiberglass statue of Christ that washed up on a sandbar in the Rio Grande three weeks ago is attracting scores of devout pilgrims to a police department lost-and-found and being hailed as a miracle.

Police in Eagle Pass, Texas, said up to 40 people a day are coming to pay homage to the five-foot-tall figurine, known as "The Christ of the Undocumented," which was found by U.S. Border Patrol agents in the river.

"Some come to pray, and some come and just touch it," police lieutenant Daniel Morales said by telephone on Monday. "We have never experienced anything like this before, and interest is growing by the day."

Local Catholic Church authorities called the figure's arrival "miraculous" and said they wanted to place it in a specially dedicated chapel in the city.

"Jesus Christ manifests himself in many places, but he showed himself here in the way of an undocumented migrant," said Marta Ramirez, a spokeswoman for the city's Our Lady of Refuge Church.

"We think it's appropriate to place it in a special chapel."

It seems that the Demise of the Faith is beginning to scare the Roman Catholic Church.

At the risk of being called "heretics", "conspiracy theorists", etc. we want to call this new "miracle" a fraud-in-the-making.

That technique - a statue appearing miraculously - has been used many times for centuries in Europe and the Americas by the Roman Catholic clergy to "kindle the faith" of the otherwise unimpressed (by their example) wayward faithful. It has proven to be a tremendous source of income and has continued to foster the spirit of idolatry, which seems to be well rooted in the (improper) practice of Roman Catholicism.

Neither God nor the pristine Roman Catholic Faith needs such bogus assistance.

We do look forward to the day when God brings the prostitution of the Faith to a thundering end - something that He will do Himself without the "assistance" of the Opus Dei; after all, they will also be directly affected by such "thundering action".

NEWS - 50-billion-ton Asteroid is ready for its close-up

ASTEROID FLYBY: Asteroid 4179 Toutatis - also dubbed Planet "X" in hushed tones - is flying past Earth this week. The weirdly tumbling space rock is close enough (960,000 miles) and bright enough (9th magnitude) to see through backyard telescopes. For the next few days it will scoot through the constellation Capricornus where amateur astronomers worldwide can find it.

By September 29th, when Toutatis is closest to Earth, it will be visible mainly from the southern hemisphere. Observers there can see it passing not far from the bright star Alpha Centauri. Follow the links at Space Weather to sky maps and detailed ephemerides.

NEWS - 1918 killer flu virus to be tested in UW lab
Study needed to head off next epidemic, scientists say

Washington (SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTS) - Sept. 18, 2004 - University of Washington scientists plan to infect monkeys with a killer flu virus grown from tissue exhumed from victims of the 1918 epidemic.

They hope the insight they gain will unravel the mystery of why tens of millions of people worldwide died from the virulent flu strain and lead to development of better vaccines and drugs that may save lives in the future.

"This was the most deadly infectious disease in the history of mankind, killing at least 40 million people," said Dr. Michael Katze, a UW microbiologist and principal investigator for the local arm of the project.

"To this day, nobody understands why the virus was so deadly."

But what should we expect from the scientists? Those who were to take aggressive spiritual action to avert World War II, the Administrators of the Roman Catholic Church, sat on their hands, as has been customary for the last 1600 years unless their physical patrimony was at stake, and we are still paying for those consequences.

God made His promise, through Mary, good, and Worl War I ended as the result of such plague. For those who understand the Divine, it is clear that that was the most merciful way to end World War I.

Well, my dear brothers and sisters, if another such plague is what is going to take to mercifully subdue the arrogance of man - cleric or otherwise - "May God grant us such Grace!" [and you may certainly quote miguel de Portugal as making such invocation.]

It is not a matter of philosophizing whether is good or not that they take such attitude. It is a matter of placing oneself in their shoes - and with their mentality, not ours (as we usually do!) - and realize that with the "track record" of the current U.S. Administration they see only two options:

(a) A fail safe assurance and demonstration that the U.S. drops its hostile attitude toward them (something that seems impossible to convincingly guarantee); or
(b) Arm themselves to the teeth with nuclear weapons to insure that the U.S. does not "mess with them".

Of course regarding option (b): In the nuclear war stage, a passing misunderstanding/misjudgment cannot be stopped, therefore, sooner or later they will strike "...because they thought that..." ....the already spoken of "Oops!" non reversible and devastating event.

NEWS - [New York Times] Russians Cite Porous Security in Terror Bombings of 2 Planes

MOSCOW, Sept. 15 - First through police bungling, then in part through a petty bribe, the two Chechen women who killed themselves and 88 others in the bombings of two Russian passenger jets last month were able to pass uninspected through layers of airport security and checks, even after being identified as possible terrorists, Russia's senior prosecutor said Wednesday.

Prosecutor General Vladimir V. Ustinov said that the two women had been detained in the airport shortly before boarding, but both were released by a police supervisor and one swiftly bribed her way onto the aircraft she would later destroy. She paid a paltry sum: the... equivalent to $34, Mr. Ustinov said.

Mr. Ustinov reported that the investigation into the bombings "has established that a Sibir Airlines official who was responsible for controlling passenger registration and boarding allowed one of the female terrorists to board the airplane in violation of all regulations and for a bribe." Corruption is endemic in post-Soviet Russia, infecting virtually all spheres of life. A report published this week by The Economist Intelligence Unit, a service produced by the Economist magazine, estimated that bribes amounted to 4 percent of Russia's gross domestic product in 2001.

NEWS - In a secret Paris cavern, the real underground cinema

PARIS (The Guardian, UK) - September 8, 2004 -- Police in Paris have discovered a fully equipped cinema-cum-restaurant in a large and previously uncharted cavern underneath the capital's chic 16th arrondissement...

Members of the force's sports squad, responsible - among other tasks - for policing the 170 miles of tunnels, caves, galleries and catacombs that underlie large parts of Paris, stumbled on the complex while on a training exercise... across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower.

After entering the network through a drain next to the Trocadero, the officers came across a tarpaulin marked: Building site, No access. Behind that, a tunnel held a desk and a closed-circuit TV camera set to automatically record images of anyone passing....

Further along, the tunnel opened into a vast 400 sq. metre cave some 18m underground, "like an underground amphitheatre, with terraces cut into the rock and chairs"... "The whole thing ran off a professionally installed electricity system and there were at least three phone lines down there."

Three days later, when the police returned accompanied by experts from the French electricity board... the phone and electricity lines had been cut and a note was lying in the middle of the floor: "Do not," it said, "try to find us."

The miles of tunnels and catacombs underlying Paris are essentially former quarries, dating from Roman times, from which much of the stone was dug to build the city...

The recent discovery of three newly enlarged tunnels underneath the capital's high-security La Santé prison was put down to the activities of one such group, and another, identifying itself as the Perforating Mexicans, last night told French radio the subterranean cinema was its work.

Patrick Alk, a photographer who has published a book on the urban underground exploration movement... told RTL radio the cavern's discovery was "a shame, but not the end of the world". There were "a dozen more where that one came from," he said.

"You guys have no idea what's down there."

This is just another example of how truly vulnerable everyone is to terrorist attacks - a vulnerability that will only increase as we use brute force to try to subdue those who feel that they have nothing to lose and to whom dying for their cause is truly an honor.

With the information summarized above as a backdrop - Can anyone see how easily would be to essentially bring France to its knees by just a handful of potential martyrs placing explosives in key spots of the 170 miles of known underground tunnels. Only God knows how many more there are about which the "tunnel patrol" obviously have no idea that exist.

It is not our intent to scare anyone. Our intent is to clearly point out to one and all that our safety is not in the hands of any State - regardless of the size of its Nuclear Arsenal. Our safety lies squarely in the Hands of God, as we have amply pointed out before by exposing our gaping vulnerability.

We challenge any State to tackle and subdue the 21st Century Ivan the Terrible (the hurricane that is trampling through the Caribbean with a destructive force seldom seen). However, we can fully trust God to protect His own from such brutal manifestation of the forces of nature... forces which God has allowed.

Yesterday we read in the NEWS

MOSCOW (AFP) - September 8, 2004 - Russia is prepared to make pre-emptive strikes on "terrorist bases" anywhere in the world, the Interfax news agency cited the country's chief of staff as saying.

"With regard to preventive strikes on terrorist bases, we will take any action to eliminate terrorist bases in any region of the world. But this does not mean we will carry out nuclear strikes," (*) General Yuri Baluyevsky said Wednesday.

Baluyevsky added that Russia's choice of action "will be determined by the concrete situation where ever it may be in the world. "Military action is the last resort in the fight against terrorism."

Today we read in the NEWS

MOSCOW (Reuters) September 9, 2004 - Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned the West not to meddle with Russia's Chechnya policy on Thursday in the wake of a bloody hostage crisis, highlighting a growing rift over the issue between former Cold War foes.

He said, in a reference to British and U.S. offers of asylum to spokesmen for Chechen rebel leader Aslan Maskhadov, that the West was directly interfering in an internal issue. "When our Western partners say we should re-examine our policy, what you call our tactics, I would advise them not to interfere in our Russian internal affairs," he told reporters.

"Preventive strikes do not mean using navy or air force," (*) Interfax news agency quoted him as saying. "It will all depend on circumstances ... We will not warn anyone in advance."

The following quote was deleted from the original mews report: " Russia is angry that Britain and the United States have given asylum to spokesmen for Chechen separatist leader Aslan Maskhadov, who Moscow blames along with rebel commander Shamil Basayev for the deaths of hundreds of hostages."

(*) Of course, the Russian central government also said that they would not storm the school and cause a slaughter of children but, "Oops!", something went wrong and it happened. This is the same "Oops!" which will cause the manifestation of Step No. 1

Do we need to call Daniel [Daniel 5: 1-30] to interpret the handwriting on the wall or has miguel de Portugal made it clear enough already?

However, we take this opportunity to plead, no, not plead, beg the Bush Administration not to make the miscalculation we pleaded with President Bush not to make before the attack against Iraq. The entire Bush Administration key players, added up together, are not a match for Vladimir Putin. An "Oops!" after a series of nuclear tipped ICBM's have been launched is impossible to reverse. This is not a matter of partisan politics, this is a matter of playing with a fire that will burn and, in this case, will also consume.

NEWS - Study links TV to teen sexual activity

CHICAGO, Illinois (Reuters) Tuesday, September 7, 2004 -- Teenagers who watch a lot of television with sexual content are twice as likely to engage in intercourse than those who watch few such programs, according to a study published Tuesday.

"This is the strongest evidence yet that the sexual content of television programs encourages adolescents to initiate sexual intercourse and other sexual activities," said Rebecca Collins, a psychologist at the RAND Corp. who headed the study.

"The impact of television viewing is so large that even a moderate shift in the sexual content of adolescent TV watching could have a substantial
effect on their sexual behavior," she added.

The entire world economy depends on marketing. Marketing depends on advertising. Advertising obviously works.

Therefore, if in a 30 minute television program all they need is 10 minutes of advertising, for which millions of dollars may be charged, to keep the market economy going, in God's Name: What do you think the effect that the programming covering the other 20 minutes of the broadcast do to the mind of the viewers? Of your children?

We have written about this years ago - but - Is it really necessary to point out the obvious? To run surveys? Only if you have been thoroughly brainwashed and lead a zombie like existence.

Quit talking about the Virgin Mary while rolling your eyes in ecstasy and start obeying Her. Talk is very cheap... Shut up and act!

Yes, this is the generation about which Jesus was referring to in His words reproduced above.

Note to non Catholics: If you do not believe in the Virgin Mary apparitions and messages, we truly respect your beliefs and the above commentary is certainly not directed to you, however, do Our Lord Jesus Christ a favor: Every time you see a Catholic "blowing their Marian Horn" just ask him/her: "Do you live Her messages? Do you meditate the Rosary daily? Do you offer acts of reparation to the Most High?" Then, ask for specifics. Most likely, you will see them squirm (as we have often seen them)... perhaps those guilt pangs will move them to "live" what they "talk." Thank you!

NEWS REPORT - Where in Washington, D.C. is Sun Myung Moon?

Note: For those who are not familiar with Sun Myung Moon: He considers himself the Savior of the World and is here to finish the "incomplete and failed" mission of Jesus Christ. He refers to himself as "Father" (as Jose María Escrivá insisted to be referred to) and his wife has been crowned "Mother" so that now, in accordance to Moon, humanity finally have their "Heavenly Father and Mother on Earth".

Although we are not politically oriented and strive to steer away from involvement in political discussions, when someone like Moon gets involved in high powered political maneuvers, miguel de Portugal does get involved. Not because of the political aspects, but because someone is daring to usurp the position of Jesus Christ and attempting to enlist the world powers to implement his "Salvation" program.
