INTRODUCTION
and BACKGROUND
This document is not about challenging the Word of God. What we are
challenging - actually denouncing - are the abuses allegedly committed
by many individuals chosen by God to serve Him. Why does miguel feel
that this is necessary? Because many of the faithful take the behavior
of those chosen ones as examples of what is correct without pondering
the reality that many of their deeds outrageously violate the
Fundamental Laws of God.
What gives miguel the ability to understand those situations and pass
judgment on their behavior? The simple and straight forward answer is
only one: God!
Who gives him the authority to do this? God!
Rest assured that what God promised to the world through the prophet
Malachi....
"See,
I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful
day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their
children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I
will come and strike the land with total destruction." [Malachi 4:5-6]
....it is being fulfilled, whether the reader wishes to believe it or
not.
DETAILS
The
Fundamental Laws of God
First of all, let us review the Fundamental Laws of God before we
commence to highlight their gross violation by some of God's chosen
ones.
Those commandments are very
clear, very few
and very simple. Let us refresh
our collective memory:
The Ten Commandments from Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5
+
Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.
+ Thou shalt not make to thyself a
graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing. Thou shalt not adore them,
nor serve them.
+ Thou shalt not take the name of the
Lord thy God in vain.
+ Remember that thou keep holy the
sabbath day.
+ Honour thy father and thy mother.
+ Thou shalt not kill.
+ Thou shalt not commit adultery.
+ Thou shalt not steal.
+ Thou shalt not bear false witness
against thy neighbour.
+ Thou shalt not covet thy
neighbour's house: neither shalt thou desire his wife, nor his servant,
nor his handmaid, nor his ox, or his ass, nor any thing that is his.
The two key Divine attributes that have existed since before Creation,
and upon which we must fix our gaze, are: (a) Divine Love, the root
cause of Creation; and the logical consequence of Divine Law - (b)
Divine Mercy
Divine Mercy, a direct consequence of Divine Love, is what reduces the
consequences that we bring
upon ourselves by refusing to live by those fundamental Laws.
Therefore, we should look at those Laws as priceless gifts from God.
The
Violations
We will highlight just a few of the violations with the intent of
providing a standard that could be use in the evaluation of all the
other acts by the chosen ones of God. Those who wish to pursue this
matter further with their Bibles, will quickly find out that even if
God allowed, through His Passive Will, those transgressions or abuses
of authority, they all had serious consequences for the chosen ones who
blatantly ignored the Fundamental Laws of God.
Abraham
Chose to ignore God's promise and followed his wife's advise to have a
child with her slave, Hagar, and not with her. Thus, forcing the Hand
of God and starting an unplanned by God lineage which today compose the
Arab Nations. [Genesis 16]
Moses
Caused the sons of Levi to act thus:
And
he said to them: Thus saith the Lord God of Israel: Put every man his
sword upon his thigh: go, and return from gate to gate through the
midst of the camp, and let every man kill his brother, and friend, and
neighbour. [Exodus 32]
Blasphemy! The Law "Thou shalt not
kill" has been in place - by Divine example - since the days of
Adam, Eve, Abel and Cain. We find no exceptions to it, just as we can
see in Genesis 4:
...but
whosoever shall kill Cain, shall be punished sevenfold. And the Lord
set a mark upon Cain, that whosoever found him should not kill him.
Also in the Book of Exodus we read:
And
the people seeing that Moses delayed to come down from the mount,
gathering together against Aaron, said: Arise, make us gods, that may
go before us: for as to this Moses, the man that brought us out of the
land of Egypt, we know not what has befallen him. And Aaron said to
them: Take the golden earrings from the ears of your wives, and your
sons and daughters, and bring them to me. And the people did what he
had commanded, bringing the earrings to Aaron. [Exodus 32:1-3]
Let us not forget that Aaron was a priest as well as Moses' brother. He
was the spiritual leader of the group while Moses was away, thus he is
the one who was responsible for the manufacturing of the golden calf.
Yet, he was not included in Moses illegal command to Put every man his sword upon his thigh:
go, and return from gate to gate through the midst of the camp, and let
every man kill his brother, and friend, and neighbour.
We can see that, Aaron, the predecessor of today's priestly class
enjoyed the same benefits from the religious administrators of the
time, in this case Moses, as today's priestly class enjoys from the
Roman Catholic Church Hierarchical Administrators. Aaron was held
blameless in spite of the fact that he broke, and led others to break,
the first two Commandments:
+ Thou shalt not have strange gods
before me.
+ Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of
any thing. Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them.
David
Not only David engaged in adultery - with the wife of Urias - but
compounded it by having Urias murdered by default. [2 Samuel 11]
Three key Commandments violated by a key player in the plans of God for
the salvation of humanity.
+ Thou shalt not kill.
+ Thou shalt not commit adultery.
+ Thou shalt not... desire thy neighbour' s wife, ...
Elijah
Once God worked the miracle proving the Elijah was the real prophet of
God....
Elijah
said to them: Take the prophets of Baal, and let not one of them
escape. And when they had taken them, Elijah brought them down to the
torrent Cison, and killed them there. [1 Kings 18]
There are many, many more examples of outright violations of Divine Law
by God's chosen ones, however, the faithful must understand that such
behavior is not condoned by God under any circumstances.
Not even when the chosen one claims that God told him to behave in such
manner. That would be a lie!
Understand one and all: To fulfill His Will, God, Who Is Perfect, will
never, ever!, move any of His chosen ones to break Divine Law and
whomever does, invoking the Name of God as the motive, will have much
to account before the Throne of God when his soul is judged.
If God needs to eliminate any threat to His people, He will do it
Himself somehow as He has shown many times through the Holy Texts and
world history.
Being specifically chosen by God to fulfill His Will in the world
stage, does not mean
that such appointment is accompanied with the permission to violate
Divine Law. That is a fact which miguel de Portugal can testify to with absolute certainty
from personal experience.
CONCLUSION
It is interesting to note that such deviations and betrayals by God's
Elect - a sample of which we have enumerated above - are not found in
the Acts of the Apostles and beyond texts. The absence of such aberrant
behavior speak very, very highly of all of the men who launched
Christianity as Jesus had requested of them.
EPILOGUE
...he
that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with
few stripes.
And unto whomsoever much is given, of
him much shall be required: and to whom they have committed much, of
him they will demand the more. [Luke 12:48]
