In Houston, Texas, during the late eighties, the pro-life movement was very active - mostly on the streets demonstrating and making public displays of piety and prayer. A behavior foreign to the teachings of our Lord and Master - Jesus Christ. A behavior He actually denounced. [Matthew 6:5-8]

From this group - a couple (he was a soft spoken and level headed Engineer for a major Engineering firm) truly illuminated by the Holy Spirit of God decided to do it the right way (Yes - we have said, and with God given authority [Luke 20:1-8] - the Right Way).

They instituted an evening of Prayer and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at the Annunciation Church in downtown Houston with the objective being the conversion of the abortion promoters and, thus, the end of abortion. Just as Jesus commanded. [Matthew 5:43-48]

We "signed up" for that and hardly missed a week. It was truly wonderful. The street marching and displayers of public piety were invited... and they did not show up. In addition, in their inflammatory "pro life" bulletins they never publicized said hour of Adoration to End Abortion.... such was their "Catholicism" and "true concern" to end abortion.

Our little group of less than ten (!) dwindled to the organizers, m de Portugal and two more. Eventually it was canceled "due to lack of interest" - literally. However, the public displays of false piety and hypocritical religiosity to end abortion continued unabashed.

We have seen this behavior over and over again and continue to denounce, one and all, the theatrical display of religiosity as worthless except for driving people away from God and achieving nothing else. Fanatics are fanatics - it does not matter what disguise is used or under what banner they group themselves. Jesus  had one adjective for them which He used frequently: Hypocrites! [Matthew 23:13-36] [Luke 11:37-52]

* It would clearly be absurd for any assassination of the holy father as depicted in the "Third Secret of Fatima" to take  place.  Therefore a question must be posed as to whether the version which contained the depiction of this event was flawed, or perhaps God lessened the severity of what was to take place.  Will we ever know the truth.

* For those who have expected this pope to declare the "Final Marian Dogma" which they understand to be a pre-requisite for the "Triumph of the Blessed Virgin", which some also equate with the Second Pentecost, it must also be highly  unlikely that John Paul will ever be healthy enough again to undertake such an initiative.

 * For those who believe that this pope will live to see the Miracle of Garabandal, then either the Miracle is immanent within the next few months, or the pope will not live to see it.

A young couple - early thirties. Both healthy and not a hint of anything medically wrong. The young woman is the daughter in law of an associate (associate from Parish work, psychological counseling and work with wives and children of alcoholics) of miguel de Portugal.

The young woman falls into a deep coma - cause unknown. She is on life support in one of  the best places in the US for this. M de P's associate calls him seeking spiritual assistance. She calls back so that he attends a family meeting with the attending medical staff and family regarding what to do with the young woman. It was obvious that the medical staff wanted to get her off life support since, according to them, she was brain dead. m de P pointed this out to the family - in case their grief did not allow them to see it. Family insists and she remains on life support.

Later on, while m de P was in deep prayer interceding and pleading with Jesus, personified as the Infant Jesus of Prague, for the needed miracle (she had small children), he received unmistakable and external physical signs that the solicited Grace was to be granted. He called his associate and told her to be at peace - that her daughter in law was going to be restored back to a normal life. Since the decision had been made to keep her on life support, m de P felt he did not have to do anything else to ensure that she be kept like that for a bit longer (it has been over fifteen years since this took place and the memory is not quite clear, but he feels that the time frame given by God for full restoration was not exceeding a month).

Next day, he was visiting a quadriplegic who had died as the result of a car accident but due to his tenacious mother's prayers, he was returned to life.

In comes a call thorough the pager and m de P responded to it. His associate was calling - desperate - because her son had decided (was talked into it by the physician in charge) to remove his wife from life support system. In her case, that would be death in just a few minutes. m de P pleaded, insisted and begged that she throw her mother's weight/influence on the issue and block the disconnect order given by her son until he reached the hospital and talked with him son in person.

m de P requested that the mother of the quadriplegic travel with him to the hospital as a living example that God can do it if He so Wills! She graciously acceded to his request.

With horn blowing and the car's lights blinking they raced to the hospital... but m de P will never forget the ensuing scene: When the elevator doors opened at the ICU at  the hospital, his associate met him with: "The have just unplugged her!"  He felt as he had been slapped since God's Goodness and Mercy blatantly rejected.

The young woman's husband will never know that he simply killed her... until he crosses the veil - and experience not be to be wished upon anyone! If they had believed and kept her on life support, she would have been back to normal in a very short time.

"And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell; for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee." [Matthew 11:23-24]

  Should you believe what miguel de Portugal says through the pages of The M+G+R Foundation?

(a) Was Jesus practicing Judaism or Christianity while He walked amongst men?

(b) Were Peter and Paul and the other ten Apostles members of the Roman Catholic Church or the Eastern (Orthodox) Catholic Church from where Mary was Assumed into Heaven?

(c) Did Jesus abandoned Judaism? He clearly stated  through Matthew 5:17-18 that:

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

1. Simple and guileless; artless: a child with a naive charm.
2. Unsuspecting or credulous.

[Mark 10:15-16]   Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.   And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
