It is interesting how the Benedict XVI functions...
According to the news report
(1):
"Ever since he apparently misspoke
about the excommunication of Mexican lawmakers on a trip to Brazil in
2007, the Vatican asks reporters to submit questions in advance and
then makes a selection, giving Benedict time to prepare a response."
Considering that Jesus clearly instructed his followers to do just the
opposite through Luke chapter 12, verses 11 and 12:
11
"When they take you before synagogues and magistrates and authorities,
do not worry about how to defend yourselves or what to say, 12 because when the time comes, the Holy
Spirit will teach you what you should say."
Apparently, either the Benedict XVI is not familiar with these verses
(unlikely), or he is counting on reporters (and perhaps Catholics) not
being familiar with them.
Maybe this new tactic in dealing with reporters is a sort of
"popemobile"
(2)
intended to protect him from bullets of another kind.
Thanks, as always!

Using one single letter, we answered several
communications from a long term friend of The M+G+R Foundation. Since
the answer contains Spiritual Direction of universal interest we have
chosen to reprint it here.
May
the Peace of God be upon you!
In the midst of several personal
pressig issues and resolving the technical/security difficulties
(computer related) that we must deal with at this time - issues that
must be handled in spite of the discharging our liturgical and other
functions, we take a moment to, if you so allow it, set your soul to
rest.
1.
The gravest sin man can commit is but a grain of sand compared to the
Oceans of His Mercy. A contrite heart and sincere intention to avoid it
in the future, are the two keys which automatically release His Mercy
and forgiveness. However, if an individual believes that his/her sins
are so great that cannot be forgiven even by God, then, indeed, there
is nothing that He can do.
2.
That there is a problem with Maria de Agreda (1)
does not mean that there is a problem with Divine
induced bilocations. There have been a few souls to whom God has
granted such gift. Padre Pio and Teresa de Jesus are two examples -
both of them, our close friends. In addition, remember that poison is
usually mixed with sweets so that people do not realized that they are
being spiritually poisoned. Logically, there will be some very correct
things in Agreda's book just as there are in the New Age Movement as
can be read in Lee's document published in our pages. (2)
3.
Your persistent feeling of guilt - as exemplified through much of your
correspondence of late - should give you the clue where its source
lies. As we have explained in many different places: Salutary guilt is
great, and from God, since it helps the soul keep in the
right path; Persistent and unrelenting guilt is from satan trying to
bring a soul to the doors of despair. That is one of his standard
tricks when he realizes that he is just about to lose the last little
grip he had on a soul; it is at this point where he brings out the
heavy artillery. Once recognized and exposed, it loses its grip.
We pray that you understand that we must now set aside the dealings
with these issues, as important as they may be, so that whatever little
time we have available can be devoted to the other hundred of thousands
of souls who read our pages and to whom, as you know and demonstrated
thorough your solicitous help, we also owe attention.
You may be assured of the prayers
that you have requested.
May God continue to Bless you and
your loved ones.

About New Age and its dangers
From WS @ USA - Published

I saw on the nightly news yesterday that Russia
and China are arguing for a new form of currency to replace the
American dollar in international trading. Of course the President
rejected that out of hand at his March 24th press conference. The two
reasons that the United States is still the only prominent power in the
world are:
1.
Most of the world's oil is bought and sold in American dollars.
2. The United States Navy's
Nuclear Submarines are out there undetected.
Financial power and Military Power. All else is moot. World financial
crisis will be the logical cause for the US losing hegemony. The
Achilles Heel is financial. Once the wherewithal is taken, it is a done
deal. The phrase "money is the sinew of war" will come true and the US
will fall fast.
I believe that Obama as president is a "tender mercy" from God the
Father. This short time may give many a final chance to hear what must
be heard.

Dear Miguel of Portugal,
A word of thanks seems appropriate. I had rejected all things
Marian at approximately the turn of the century while continuing to
adhere closely to the Lord through study of the Scriptures. Now I sense
a calling, or a wish for a calling from Mary, and have been reading The
Miracle Detective by Randall Sullivan, an excellent, well-researched,
factual and sympathetic account of the Medjugorje apparitions and the
author's own conversion. On pg. 374 the author recounts that on the
return flight home from his second trip to Medjugorje, he was
"...seated next to a jeweler from Philadelphia who offered me a lesson
in how to buy pearls. 'The most important thing to remember,' he said,
'is that you get what you pay for.'"
Immersed in Scripture as I have been, that struck a chord. The
pearl of great price, I mused. You must sell everything to get it!
Within an hour or two I was searching Google for "Marian warnings" (1) and found your site (2). You talked of the
invoice we'll be getting. I read for hours, going from link to link
within your site, wherever it led me.
What I thank you from the bottom of my heart for is
the Pearl of Divine Wisdom you recount from Our Lady's Fatima messages.
Not to seek mortification, but simply to accept what comes our way from
day to day and offer up. (3)
This apparently is advice I'm going to need.
Thanks, and God bless you,

ONE QUESTION......... I
HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED THAT THE END NEVER JUSTIFIES THE MEANS. YET YOU
PROPOSED THAT AN EXCEPTION BE MADE FOR THE PEOPLE OF AFRICA FOR THE USE
OF CONDOMS TO HELP PREVENT AIDS..... JUST FOR A CERTAIN LENGTH OF TIME!
THIS CONFUSES ME., HOWEVER, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON THIS MATTER AS
PEOPLE ARE KILLING EACH OTHER.
THEY DO NOT HAVE "EYES TO SEE OR EARS TO HEAR." HOW CAN ONE JUSTIFY BAD
BEHAVIOR BY SAYING SOMEONE IS SICK?
HOW CAN WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO ACCEPT BAD MONEY FOR A GOOD CAUSE , IN
LOVE?
HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN TO A NON CHRISTIAN THAT GOD ALLOWS BAD THINGS TO
HAPPEN? ACCIDENTS, VICTIMS OF CRIME?
I KNOW WELL OF FREE CHOICE BUT IT DOES NOT CONVINCE A NON-BELIEVER.
FORGIVE ME FOR ALL OF THE QUESTIONS, BUT YOU ARE MY FAMILY AND I TRUST
ALL OF YOU AS I KNOW YOU ARE DOING GOD'S WILL AND I BELIEVE IN YOU.
I WISH I HAD 3 MONTHS JUST TO SIT
AND LISTEN TO YOU.
GOD BLESS YOU FOR ALL OF YOU PATIENCE, LOVE AND
UNDERSTANDING............ ESPECIALLY OF THE WEAK ONES LIKE ME.
IN HIS NAME AND GRACE,
KT
A. Thank your for
writing and sharing your concerns with us.
We also believe, and have frequently said, that the "End does not
justify the means", however, we must evaluate each individual situation
with the Light of the Holy Spirit to see how we should get from point
"A" (living outside the Law of God) to point "B" (living within the Law
of God).
The first step is to determine the "Why" of the point "A" and its
consequences - short term and long term.
We shall take first the killing of another human being as a point "A" -
this is extremely grave under any circumstances : There is no just war;
there is no just killing. Logically, point "B" is the stopping of the
killing of human beings.
Say that we have an individual who is prone to kill other humans due to
X,Y and Z reasons and does so on a regular basis. Maybe he does not
know that "Thou shalt not kill" is a real and absolute Divine Law.
Obviously he needs to be instructed in Divine Law and needs to be
assisted in his conversion - however, in the meantime, he cannot be
allowed to go around killing people until "the Evangelization" takes a
hold of his soul. He must be stopped for the benefit of others and
himself.
Now, let us take up birth control as another point "A" situation. What
is the root problem of artificial birth control? Sexual interaction
without responsibility becomes just another sport - where one may even
switch partners just as we may do for a tennis match. The more
uneducated the individual is and the less means of entertainment he/she
may have, the more he/she will turn to sex and/or drugs as an
"entertaining sport". The more bored a rich and well educated
individual gets, the more he/she will also turn to sex and/or drugs as
an "entertaining sport".
Promiscuous sex and the use of drugs are the two societal maladies
which can harm a soul the most. Thus, logically God has allowed AIDS.
He is more interested in our soul within the overall Eternal picture,
than just the brief time it resides in a body on Earth. If some
activity is going to gravely harm the soul - He rather take them home
soon.
(1)
In the birth control situation - We could then take two positions: (a)
Let them destroy themselves and thus "help God"; or (b) Intervene and
help them find the way to God in a more natural way.
If we take position (a), it would logically follows, to the derange
minds, that all sick and poor people should be exterminated.... and
"...by doing this we are doing them a favor and serving God along."
(believe it or not, that thinking is "on the table" of the Future
Masters of the world.)
If we take position (b), we assist them in not killing each other,
through unprotected sexual intercourse, by providing them with the
appropriate protection WHILE
simultaneously
Evangelizing them so that they will abandon the "Outside the Laws of
God" lifestyle, i.e. "Sexual activity is a sport."
In certain countries of Europe they established a "Clean Syringe
Program" wherein the drug addicts would turn in their used syringes and
get clean ones in ordered to arrest the spread of AIDS through sharing
infected syringes. This was done WITHOUT any Evangelization, therefore,
what on the surface looked like a very charitable act was indeed
contributing to the further degradation of their souls.
This would be the same if we just pass out condoms and do nothing else.
In conclusion:
(a) Passing out condoms to prevent the
spread of AIDS via sexual intercourse - and do nothing else - to
save lives cannot be considered as a "means justified by the end" -
because we are working against God by helping in the destruction of
souls.
(b) Passing out condoms to prevent the spread of AIDS via sexual
intercourse - and implement
a solid Evangelization program to change the mentality of the
individuals through Light and Grace - is a method of "buying
time" while the leaven of the kingdom of heaven works its wonders in
their souls - thus we are cooperating with God' plan for His children. [The kingdom of heaven is like to leaven,
which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, until the whole
was leavened. [Matthew 13:33]]
12. Planning for the Mass should
include providing for a sufficient number of hosts to be consecrated so
that all can receive hosts consecrated during that Mass, underlining
the connection between consecration and communion. Generally, reserved hosts should not be
brought from the tabernacle
unless needed at a particular Mass. (1)
This addresses the issue but works around the central question of the
consecrated status of the 'reserved hosts'...
If hosts are to be consecrated during the Sacrifice of the Mass wherein
they are to be consumed, why so many "reserved hosts'? (2) Have they been
consecrated at some previous Mass? Shouldn't by now any Parish could
make informed and practical estimates on how many would be needed at a
particular Mass and thus avoid the "unless needed" and confusing issue
of bringing out and offering unconsecrated hosts?

You showed great wisdom in citing "satan's board meeting." (1)
It is not overt evil that is the problem, it is the lack of charity in
all things. The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference.
As creatures of God, many of us are simply indifferent to the wonders
of God.
It is impossible to contemplate God if we spend all of our time and
energy pursuing the "disposables" of this world while ignoring the
eternal treasure of God.
What will it take to get our attention? (A rhetorical question.) (2)

(1) Minutes of satan's Board
Meeting
SATAN'S
BOARD MEETING
Satan
called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he
said, "We can't keep Christians from going to church." "We can't keep
them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth." "We can't even
keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their Savior."
Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is
broken." "So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered
dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop
a relationship with Jesus Christ."
"This
is what I want you to do," said the devil: "Distract them from gaining
hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout
their day!"
"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.
"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable
schemes to occupy their minds," he answered. "Tempt them to spend,
spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow." "Persuade the wives to go to
work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12
hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles." "Keep them
from spending time with their children." "As their families fragment,
soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"
"Over-stimulate their minds so they cannot hear that still, small
voice."
"Entice
them to play the radio or cassette player
whenever they drive and to keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going
constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant
in the world plays non-biblical music constantly." "This will jam their
minds and break that union with Christ." "Fill the coffee tables with
magazines and
newspapers." "Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day." "Invade
their driving moments with billboards." "Flood their mailboxes with
junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of
newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false
hopes."
"Keep
skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will
believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become
dissatisfied with their wives. " "Keep the wives too tired to love
their husbands at night." "Give them headaches too!" "If they don't
give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look
elsewhere." "That will fragment their families quickly!" "Give them
Santa Claus to distract them from teaching
their children the real meaning of Christmas." "Give them an Easter
bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and
death." "Even in their recreation, let them be excessive." "Have them
return from their recreation exhausted." "Keep them too busy to go out
in nature and reflect on God's creation. " "Send them to amusement
parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead."
"Keep
them busy, busy, busy!" "And when they meet for spiritual fellowship,
involve them in gossip and small talk so they leave with troubled
consciences." "Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no
time to seek power from Jesus." "Soon they will be working in their own
strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the
cause." "It will work!" "It will work!"
It
was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing
Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and
there. Having little time for their God or their families. Having no
time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.
As even the casual observer can see, satan's strategy worked better
than he ever imagined because, as we "advance" technologically, the
results he yearned for increase exponentially.

I have been harassed over the phone despite repeated attempts to get

Cardinal Egan, Crisis-Denier | February 25, 2009
This week the Vatican announced its replacement
for the retiring Cardinal Egan of the New York archdiocese. Before Egan
steps down, let's look at his most dangerous legacy -- his unique
success among major US bishops in suppressing information about clergy
sexual abuse.
In 2002,
leaked
files from the Bridgeport CT diocese revealed that Egan had
engineered a sexual abuse disaster while he was Bridgeport bishop from
1988 to 2000. In New York, however, Egan has been able to keep a lid on
embarrassing information. Under his watch, the archdiocese has not had
to make public any internal abuse documents. Small wonder that in a
2007 interview, Egan pronounced his NY tenure a "
colossal
success," declaring, "I wanted peace in my diocese, and it's
peaceful."
Egan under-reported in 2004 when the
US bishops released counts of accused priests. In 2004, Egan
reported a mere
49
NY priests accused from 1950 to 2002, or 1.3% of total NY priests.
The difference between NY and other dioceses is stark:
1.3% -
New
York NY
4.9% -
Los
Angeles
5.7% - Cleveland (grand jury counted
145
accused priests out of
2515
total)
5.9% -
Cincinnati
6.3% -
Manchester
NH
7.0% -
Boston
7.6% - Philadelphia (grand jury counted
169
accused priests out of
2204
total)
9.6% -
Covington
KY
According to the US Conference of Catholic Bishops' cumulative accused
priest total through 2007,
4.9%
of all US priests have been accused of molesting children. If the
NY archdiocese's problem were merely average, its secret archives would
contain allegations against 185 priests, not 49, as claimed by Egan.
In other words, Egan implied that NY's
abuse problem was one-fourth
the national average. Why hasn't his preposterous claim been challenged?
The answer is simple: Unlike every other major diocese, the NY
archdiocese has not been forced to make public disclosures. Not one NY
archdiocesan abuse document has been made public. Neither have any
depositions of archdiocesan officials. Why not?
-
Victims have been almost
completely unable to bring civil action against the NY archdiocese:
New
York State's civil statute of limitations for child sex crimes is
perhaps the most victim-hostile statute in the country. To bring civil
charges against the institution that mismanaged his abuser, a victim
almost always has only three years from the occurrence of the crime or
his 18th birthday . Worse, the
NY
statute of limitations is almost never "tolled," or waived, as it
is in many other states, for reasons such as victim's delayed
realization of harm or fraudulent concealment by the institution.
-
The failure of District
Attorneys: Unlike public prosecutors in Long Island NY,
Massachusetts, NH, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, metro NY District
Attorneys chose not to force public disclosure from the archdiocese. In
2002, when media attention was strong, long-time Manhattan DA Robert
Morgenthau issued a couple of statements but did not call a grand jury
investigation. In Westchester County, DA Jeanine Pirro did convene a
grand jury, but the scope of the investigation was modest -- only eight
victims were interviewed -- and strangely,
the
report issued by Pirro was denomination-neutral. It did not contain
the words "archdiocese," "Catholic," "archbishop," or "priest." The
report triggered little public reaction.
As Edward Egan fades into
retirement, the public may yet learn of his concealment of abusers.
Newspapers may win a
still-active
case in CT to force the release of 12,000 pages of Bridgeport abuse
documents, including personnel files of 5 to 6 alleged abusers who
were handled by Egan. The documents will be damaging to Egan. If
released, they may finally spur NY public prosecutors to investigate
Egan's handling of accused priests in NY.
And there's at least one more reason for hope. Advocates of child
sexual abuse victims may succeed this year in reforming NY's
predator-friendly civil SOL.
The
new bill would retroactively eliminate the civil statutes of limitation
for one year. Victims finally would be able to take civil action
against institutions that mismanaged the abusers. Names of NY abusive
clerics would become public. Possibly, archdiocesan documents would be
made public, too.
Sincerely,
Anne Barrett Doyle
Co-Director
