About Fundamental-ism....
The threat from the Right is nothing new according to The writer of the
book, " The Family; the Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American
Power". Mr. Sharlett has researched the topic from the beginnings
of our country to the present day and has convinced me that the earlier
reaction against "The Red Menace" is a pale imitation of what's in
store for all who do not obey! (1)
(2)
The theology of capitalism and the hitching of the Lord Jesus' people
to the the wagon of free-market enterprise makes for a potent contrast
with the image of Jesus the servant who was obedient unto death
in His atonement for our sins. Onward Christian soldiers means
nothing but continual warfare against forces that would destroy One
Nation under God, (read Mammon), and disregard all others who do not
submit.
Whether it is The National Prayer Breakfasts, putting "In God We Trust"
on paper money or proselytizing the elite such as Congressmen,
Senators, Corporate Magnates or Evangelicals or lobbying and working in
the trenches to promote the American Way of Life at the expense of all
who don't agree, we have much to be concerned about from little known
string-pullers who have co-opted our democracy and have made it their
Field of Dreams and a very profitable one for them, the "Chosen."
I used to say that Ronald Reagan took us back to a time that never was.
We are now living in a time when their version of history of America
has become the preferred reality. Revival-ism, whether Colonial,
post-Civil War or the Roaring Twenties or the post-WWII anti-Communist
type, seems to want to take us back to a "once upon on time..."
America was never a "city on the hill", if anything it was always the
opposite (lest we forget slavery, indian massacres, labor disputes,
financial panics, etc.) . The elite wished to remain the elite
and so gladly financed the revivals to promote obedience to the status
quo and turning aside those who saw the exploitation for what it was.
According to Wikipedia: "The first formulation of American
fundamentalist beliefs can be traced to the Niagara Bible Conference
and, in 1910, to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church which
distilled these into what became known as the "five
fundamentals." These are:
1. The
inspiration of the Bible by the Holy Spirit and the inerrancy of
Scripture as a result of this.
2. The virgin birth of Christ.
3. The belief that Christ's death was the
atonement for sin.
4. The bodily resurrection of Christ.
5. The historical reality of Christ's
miracles.
It seems that these Fundamentals of Christianity have been shoved aside
making too real the motto "In God We trust; others pay cash."
It's all become a millstone around our necks rendering "We the People"
as fodder for all the elite's infernal schemes. God forgive "We
the People" for allowing it! (3)
Note from The M+G+R
Foundation: Thank you! for a well thought out
presentation of the "State of the Union" and "State of US
Christianity" from a different perspective.

As expected, President Obama
has declared the swine flu a National Emergency. (1)
The fact that the swine flu is not a real danger to life and property
should be obvious to anyone who can read and has an average
intelligence, therefore, the expected declaration of a National
Emergency has another purpose besides protecting life and property of
the citizens.
This National Emergency declaration comes at the heels of an
"unexpected" and "sudden" delay on the availability of the
vaccine. (2)
It does not take a triple digit IQ to realize that after:
(a) Months of
fanning the fires of a national panic for a non event;
(b) Declaring the non event a National
Emergency; and
(c) Announcing a substantial delay on the
vaccine availability
We could expect (deliberately triggered) riots and massive acts of
civil disobedience nationwide which, of course, would necessitate
additional Emergency Powers to be invoked.
Just a thought.... or two....

Oh my goodness...... I am so
moved by today's (Oct. 14th) "Points
to Ponder" column (1)!
My almost 16 year old daughter brought up this very issue while we were
out walking together yesterday afternoon. She is currently
studying both American Government and Economics.
She told me what she had read and understood regarding the principles
on which our country and our economic system were founded. We
discussed how far away from the "perfect" world we (as a society) have
fallen, and that is precisely why we are in such a "pickle" right now.
I told her that we have to remember to always seek God first in our
daily lives, and if we continue to do that, we can be assured that we
are doing His will. We may make mistakes along the way, but more
often than not -- it's because we put our own wants, desires, and
beliefs ahead of His.
I can't remember all that was said during our conversation, but I ended
by telling her that her father and I are trying to raise children who
will work for the greater good of ALL.... that if every human being
would do this, soon our government and society as a whole would return
to a state that more closely resembles His intended plan.
I was so heartened by your explanation of the woman's role in the
family. I read your article aloud to my daughter. You put into
words what I was unable to. It makes perfect sense to me, and it
did to her -- especially after our talk yesterday afternoon.
I am not intending to pat myself on the back. I want to publicly
say "THANK YOU" to God for allowing me to "get it," and hopefully help
to pass "it" on to my children and theirs.
As you have stated so many times: It really is that simple.
Sincerely,

I worked for the US Defense Department for 33 years.
I have maintained that the two major bulwarks of US dominance in the world are the Nuclear Submarine force and the fact that Oil is exclusively traded in dollars.
Now that Russia, China, the Arabs and France, are backing a change in that policy, one of the two pillars of American hegemony may be about to crash. If the Euro gets the boost which it seems it will, "Samson" must be someone in Europe. One can only speculate how the second pillar will fall.
Maybe Tom Clancy can tell us about any achilles heel. The scenario of the twin towers has not escaped me. I am also reminded of Shelley's "Ozymandias(Ramses II), the King." (1)
I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said -- "two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert ... near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lips, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings,
Look on my Works ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away." --

Further thought on the implications of Obama being the "Holy Monarch."
Since he is our president, this makes the US even more liable to the
judgments laid out in Revelation for Babylon, Egypt, and Rome. In other
words, devastation is in store for the country. (All of this is in
addition to the fact that, as the ruler of Iraq since the spring of
2003, we have literally been "King of Babylon" for almost 7 years, and
that - as I think you said after 9/11 - New York and DC have
represented economic and political Babylon for the current era.)
I am probably not alone in this ... but I had expected the actual Beast
and the actual False Prophet to be evil and seductive, but ALSO to be
brilliant (in an evil way), and competent in carrying out their
official duties. Instead, we have (it seems) a "Holy Monarch" who is an
empty suit, beholden to Wall Street and the Pentagon and the health
insurers, and short of any REAL accomplishment (aside from getting
elected to the White House).
And our "Holy Pope" wears cute red slippers, writes like a follower of
Hegel, can't (or won't) clean out the pedophiles and enablers, and
looks like the evil Emperor Palpatine of the Star Wars films.
I mentioned this to an associate, and he said that I should have
remembered that evil leaders are - in essence - empty, and cannot have
any real good to offer.
I had been overly influenced by the expectation that these figures
would be wonder-workers; as it turns out, the only wonder is that
anyone wants to follow them.
The first point is speculation, and the second point is a rant (2); correct them or ignore
them or use them at will.

Dearest Miguel and my M+G+R
Foundation Family,
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, my deepest thanks for
your support. The Category 5 Hurricane (called a Super Typhoon locally)
that I mentioned previously, Parma, missed our capital and made
landfall in the Northern Philippines, an area with a much lower
population density. In comparison to the storm Ondoy (international
name: Ketsana) that had a death toll in excess of 300 people, Hurricane
Parma, the more powerful of the two, “only” caused 16 or so deaths. And
in addition, another storm which followed Parma, tropical storm Melor,
looks like it’s going to miss our country completely. God is indeed
merciful.
Your continued support and prayers have helped us immensely. I can only
pray that whatever lessons we were supposed to learn from this event,
perhaps to prepare us for what is to come, have been learned so that
further “instruction” may not be necessary, or at least would not be as
severe. Again, you have my deepest, most profound thanks.
Yours in Christ.

Thank you

how much I appreciate your prayers. Yes, I have tried very hard to
remember
what you have taught. However, this catastrophe has underscored for me
how
unprepared I am for what lies ahead since I had to struggle greatly to
do so. I
cannot help but feel anger and sadness at what has befallen so many of

material possessions we have lost can eventually
be replaced (or not, as He wills), but many of my countrymen have lost
more
than that and I would ask that you pray for them that God may heal
their souls.
Again, my
deepest thanks.

Regarding the veracity of Benedict XVI's approved life story, I want to
take just one key aspect of it, his alleged baptism, and see how the
story holds up when the facts are checked.
The 'official story'
(1)
(2) is that Josef Alois Ratzinger was '
Baptized on the
day of his birth (April 16, 1927) in the parish church at the Easter
Vigil'. Some Catholic blog sources infer that his mother and
family took him to
the service. At least one actually names the priest who
allegedly Baptized him. Another version claims he was Baptized at 8:30
AM
Problems with such allegation:
a.
He was born at 8:30 AM......
b. There was no such thing as
the "Easter Vigil" in 1927, as we know it today until the Liturgical Reforms
mandated by Pope Pius XII in 1955
c. The formal reintroduction of
'the ancient rite of Baptism of Catechumens, which had long
fallen into disuse",
desired by Pius XII in 1955, was not universally & officially
restored until 1969-70 with the mandated 'restored rite of Holy Week; -
as a result of Vatican II. (3)
(5)
d. In 1927, the Holy Saturday
service would take place in the AM.
Pius' reforms of 1955 (4):
a.
Began the restoration of the ancient Easter Vigil
b. Moved the time
of day in which the Easter Vigil and Mass of the Lord' Supper (Holy
Thursday) BACK more then 12 hours!!!
Yet not all of Pius' changes were immediately (or gladly)
implemented. In some places in the US even in the mid-60's the Holy
Saturday service
was still in the AM. Until c.1970, when what we now know as the 'Easter
Vigil" was introduced - and held in the evening. As a result of the
Liturgical changes via Vatican II. Even after 1970,
Baptisms at the Easter Vigil were rare until the mid/late 80s, with the
introduction of RCIA programs. It should be noted that the intent of
formal reintroduction of Baptism
into the Easter Vigil
was primarily for adult catechumens, not
infants.
a.
Prior to 1955, NO mass could lawfully begin after Noon. A Sunday High
Mass would start no later then 11 AM in an urban area.
b. In rural areas it was
(and is) very common for services to be very
early in the AM - so that people can get their farm work done in the
remaining daylight. Markt Am Inn was a tiny rural village.
Legalisms aside, even IF the service was in the evening, for a
woman who had given birth that day to go and sit through a 3 hour
service - she would be Wonder Woman! Both mother and child need to
rest and recover from the strain of birth.
There
is no logical need to immediately Baptize a newborn - unless
it is in danger of death (which was NOT the case; he was healthy). In
such case, anyone could perform it. The claim is made that is was
'common to Baptize on the very day of birth'. This is unsubstantiated.
Also, as clergy would be very busy with preparations for the next day
(Easter Sunday), a private Baptism on Holy Saturday would be highly
unlikely.
Finally, there seems one overriding concern which is behind all of
this:
In order for him to be
Ordained, he would have to have 'proof' of Baptism & Confirmation. Why
the discrepancies then?
As
a youngster I worked in several parish rectories, where I produced
copies of Baptismal records. The books were often altered. Items were
crossed out, written over, obviously added later (ball point pen Vs.
fountain pen), different handwriting, labels pasted over an
entry, and
the copious use of 'White-Out'. Anytime we have handwritten record
entries (without any counter-signing or other reasonable security), the
possibility of altering or forging records is very real.
