The
Root of Violent Evangelization
Has Been Found and...
Some of the Writings Ascribed to Paul
of Tarsus May Be It
PURPOSE
The purpose of this brief document is
to identify and bring to light what may be at the root of the violent
Evangelization that we
have witnessed for over the last 1,600 years.
From the torturing and/or slaughtering of: Orthodox Christians, anyone
deemed a Heretic, anyone who protested the Roman Catholic Church
Administration's abuses
and excesses, the local natives in the Americas - even the witch hunts
with their subsequent burning - all may be traced back to some of the
writings ascribed to Paul of Tarsus.
BACKGROUND
May the 2,000 years of violent
"Evangelization" serve as the background to this document. What else
could we possibly add to the historic trail of blood left behind by the
"evangelizers"?
INTRODUCTION
For decades miguel de Portugal has
wondered how the leadership - and far too many followers - of the Roman
Catholic Church justified for over sixteen centuries of brutality in
the Name of
Jesus Christ - behavior that is completely incoherent with the reality
of Jesus Christ presented in the Four Gospels and known to him
otherwise.
Although it was right before his eyes, at least once every year, it was
now, during the first week of September 2016, that miguel finally saw
it.
The trigger reading was First Letter to the Corinthians 5:1-5. In it we
read:
It is
actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a
kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his
father's wife. And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have gone into
mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing
this? For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with
you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have
already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who
has been doing this. So when you
are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord
Jesus is present, hand this man over to Satan for the destruction
of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.
This same brutal solution may be found in the First Letter to Timothy
1:19-20:
Having
faith and a good conscience, which some rejecting have made shipwreck
concerning the faith. Of whom is Hymeneus and Alexander, whom I have
delivered up to Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme. Of whom is
Hymeneus and Alexander, whom I have
delivered up to Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
DETAILS
Students
of the history of the New Testament have concluded that
the books signed by Paul, but which were not written by him, are:
Ephesians
Colossians
2 Thessalonians
1 Timothy
2 Timothy
Titus
In addition, no one has the absolute certainty that those
books, officially claimed to have been written by Paul, are indeed his in their entirety or that a
few passages were added to justify unChristian
behavior.
Furthermore, after more than 3,000 translations (1) one must never accept
any teachings which clearly are in direct
opposition
to what Jesus taught - by Word, Deed and Example.
In the particular case that we are addressing in this document there
may have been some manipulation of the
interpretation of:
So when you
are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord
Jesus is present, hand this man over to Satan for the destruction
of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.
and
....whom
I have
delivered up to Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
In the same chapter of said letter to the Corinthians we also read
that:
I
wrote to you in an epistle, not to keep company with fornicators. I
mean not with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or
the extortioners, or the servers of idols; otherwise you must needs go
out of this world. But now I
have written to you, not to keep company, if any man that is named a
brother, be a fornicator, or covetous, or a server of idols, or a
railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner: with such a one, not so much
as to eat. ..... Put away the
evil one from among yourselves.
The above is probably what is at root of what we know as
excommunication. Perhaps what Paul meant by "handing over to satan" was
the excommunication or separation of the guilty party from the "inner
Christian family".
If they were expelled from the "inner Christian family" they had to
live among the "the fornicators of
this world, or with the covetous, or the extortioners, or the servers
of idols" which is equivalent to living in communion with those
who belong to
satan. A life that carries a high price right here on Earth.
We do not agree that such is the proper way to save the guilty party's
soul. On the contrary, that would increase the chances of the
individual committing the most grave sins. But that could be the
subject of another document...
CONCLUSION
In any case, whether those statements ascribed to Paul were invented,
mistranslated or
misinterpreted, they seem to be at the root of the violent
Evangelization carried by the Roman Catholic Church Administration -
the result of which is the sewer of a world we live in now and
which.... Thanks be to God!, will soon cleansed to its very core.
