Luke 3: 7
“He said therefore to the multitudes that went forth to be baptized by
him: Ye offspring of vipers, who hath shewed you to flee from the wrath
to come?”
Luke 3: 9
“For now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore
that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be cut down and cast into the
fire.”
Luke 3: 17
“Whose fan is in his hand, and he will purge his floor, and will gather
the wheat into his barn; but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable
fire.”
Luke 9: 27
“But I tell you of a truth: There are some standing here that shall not
taste death, till they see the kingdom of God.”
Luke
11:
50-51
“That the blood of all the
prophets which was shed from the foundation
of the world, may be required of this generation, From the blood of
Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, who was slain between the alter and
the temple: Yea I say to you, It shall be required of this generation.”
Luke 13:
33-35
“Nevertheless I must walk to day and to morrow, and the day following,
because it cannot be that a prophet perish, out of Jerusalem.
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets, and stonest them that
are sent to thee, how often would I have gathered thy children as the
bird doth her brood under her wings, and thou wouldest not?
Behold your house shall be left to you desolate. And I say to you, that
you shall not see me till the time come, when you shall say: Blessed is
he that cometh in the name of the Lord.”
Luke 12:
39-41, 47-49
39-41 “But this know ye, that if the householder did know at what hour
the thief would come, he would surely watch, and would not suffer his
house to be broken open.
Be you then also ready: for at what hour you think not, the Son of man
will come. And Peter said to him: Lord, dost thou speak this parable to
us, or likewise to all?”
47-49 “And that servant who knew the will of his lord, and prepared not
himself, and did not according to his will, shall be beaten with many
stripes. But he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall
be beaten with few stripes. And unto whomsoever much is given, of him
much shall be required: and to whom they have committed much, of him
they will demand the more. I am come to cast fire on the earth; and
what will I, but that it be kindled?
Luke
19: 11
“As they were hearing these
things, he added and spoke a parable,
because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the
kingdom of God should immediately be manifested.”
Luke
21:
6-7, 9, 12, 13-15, 17-18, 20-22, 18, 20-21, 25, 31-32, 36
6-7 These things which you see, the days will come in which there shall
not be left a stone upon a stone that shall not be thrown down. And
they asked him, saying: Master, when shall these things be? and what
shall be the sign when they shall begin to come to pass?
9 And when you shall hear of wars and seditions, be not terrified:
these things must first come to pass; but the end is not yet presently.
12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands upon you, and
persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons,
dragging you before kings and governors, for my name's sake.
13-15 And it shall happen unto you for a testimony. Lay it up therefore
into your hearts, not to meditate before how you shall answer: For I
will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not
be able to resist and gainsay.
17-18 And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake. But a hair
of your head shall not perish.
20-21 And when you shall see
Jerusalem compassed about with an army;
then know that the desolation thereof is at hand. Then let those who
are in Judea, flee to the mountains; and those who are in the midst
thereof, depart out: and those who are in the countries, not enter into
it.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the
stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, by reason of the
confusion of the roaring of the sea and of the waves;
31-32 So you also, when you shall see these things come to pass, know
that the kingdom of God is at hand. Amen, I say to you, this generation
shall not pass away, till all things be fulfilled.
36 Watch ye, therefore, praying at all times, that you may be accounted
worthy to escape all these things that are to come, and to stand before
the Son of man.
Luke 22, 69
“But hereafter the Son of man shall be sitting on the right hand of the
power of God.”
