Denial and Its Grave Consequences

EXPLAINED

PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to illustrate the grave consequences - physical and spiritual - of being in the State of Denial.

What is the "State of Denial"? The Roman Catholic Catechism (1) defines it well: "Feigned ignorance and hardness of heart."

The same Catechism continues: "[such state] do not diminish, but rather increase, the voluntary character of a sin." This may be found in Paragraph No. 1859, where said Catechism clearly define Mortal Sin.

PROLOGUE

For our brothers and sisters who are not of the Catholic Faith:
The state of denial and its consequences are not an invention of Catholicism. If you do not feel comfortable with the word "sin", then change it to "transgression against the Goodness of God". Thus "mortal sin" becomes a "transgression against the Goodness of God which may cause perpetual separation from God", also known as "hell".

For our brothers and sisters who are not of the Christian Faith: Obviously the severity of the consequences explained above does not apply to you in full. They do apply to a certain extent since Jesus Christ is Universal and Eternal, however, for those who have note seen His Light due to no fault of their own, the Eternal Father has ample reserves of Mercy to be applied to whatever transgressions you may have committed out of sheer ignorance and not malice and/or rejection of the Light.

Obviously, those who "knew better" - that is, those who should have Evangelized the world by word and deed - clergy and laity alike - will take the brunt of the the Divine Justice associated with the Sin of Denial since they kept you and billion others in the dark.

BACKGROUND

Let us first review the comprehensive definition of/condition for a Mortal Sin. According to the Roman Catholic Catechism:

1857 (2) For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must together be met: "Mortal sin is sin whose object is grave matter and which is also committed with full knowledge and deliberate consent."

1858 Grave matter is specified by the Ten Commandments, corresponding to the answer of Jesus to the rich young man: "Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and your mother." The gravity of sins is more or less great: murder is graver than theft. One must also take into account who is wronged: violence against parents is in itself graver than violence against a stranger.

1859 Mortal sin requires full knowledge and complete consent. It presupposes knowledge of the sinful character of the act, of its opposition to God's law. It also implies a consent sufficiently deliberate to be a personal choice. Feigned ignorance and hardness of heart (133) do not diminish, but rather increase, the voluntary character of a sin.

1860 Unintentional ignorance can diminish or even remove the imputability of a grave offense. But no one is deemed to be ignorant of the principles of the moral law, which are written in the conscience of every man. The prompting of feelings and passions can also diminish the voluntary and free character of the offense, as can external pressures or pathological disorders. Sin committed through malice, by deliberate choice of evil, is the gravest.

1864 "Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin." There are no limits to the mercy of God, but anyone who deliberately refuses to accept his mercy by repenting, rejects the forgiveness of his sins and the salvation offered by the Holy Spirit. Such hardness of heart can lead to final impenitence and eternal loss.

1868 (3) Sin is a personal act. Moreover, we have a responsibility for the sins committed by others when we cooperate in them:

- by participating directly and voluntarily in them;
- by ordering, advising, praising, or approving them;
- by not disclosing or not hindering them when we have an obligation to do so;
- by protecting evil-doers.

(133) Cf. Mk 3:5-6; Lk 16:19-31.

DETAILS

Obviously - the Sin of Denial does not necessarily carry the spiritual consequences as the sin against (the rejection of) the Holy Spirit; however, it does carry the same physically painful consequences. The Sin of Denial is very serious because, although it is a personal act, such individual is also responsible for the sins committed by others as the result of cooperating with/contributing to their state of unawareness.

For example. Who is most responsible for the horrors of World War II? The world leaders or the Roman Catholic Church Administration who had received full and clear instructions (4) - accompanied by legendary miracles (5) - on what to do to avert it?

Without a shred of doubt - the Administration of the Roman Catholic Church was responsible for World War II (6). Why? Because by committing the Sin of Denial they fully cooperated in such monumental holocaust. If they had acted on a timely basis as clearly instructed by God, World War II would have been averted.

It is really that simple.

[Of course, if the Administration of the Roman Catholic Church does not believe in the messages of Fatima and other authentic Marian apparitions, or if it does not accept responsibility for the results of ignoring the warnings given by Heaven, then world civil authorities should confiscate and shut down all Marian Shrines and Sanctuaries - starting with Fátima and Lourdes. Such suppression would be just, since the Administration of the Roman Catholic Church is conducting a massive fraud by promoting and financially exploiting, to the detriment of the world populace, something that the Hierarchy itself does not believe in.] (7)

For individuals, Denial does similar damage, and works in a similar way. Humans tend to revert to, and find refuge in, the State of Denial when they feel incapable of facing an apparently insurmountable situation. (8) Be it a wife whose husband has a mistress and "she looks the other way" or a Bishop who keeps shuffling from parish to parish an active pedophile priest while trying to convince himself that all the accusations are false. (9)

Granted - there are some circumstances where an individual has no physical recourse when faced with a great problem; however, every believer has recourse to God through prayer and acts of reparation. Did He not say: [Mt 5:44] But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; ?

When such individual chooses the State of Denial instead of cooperating with God (10) in the solution of a serious moral/political/spiritual problem, then such individual is denying God in the Person of Jesus. Then, the consequences are: [Mt 10:33] But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

"Oh but I don't have your level of faith!" many will say that.

That IS NOT an excuse to justify slipping into the State of Denial; Faith is a gift from God which He willingly gives to those who ask for it in earnest. Did He not also say: [Jo 16:23-24] Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

CONCLUSION

Given these facts:

(a) The State of Denial of an obvious reality is the equivalent of Denying the Incarnate Word of God;

(b) When the Incarnate Word of God is denied, He will deny you before His Father;

then we ask you....

Whom do you plan to approach to seek the Mercy (11) that you desperately need to blot out the rosary of misery and destruction that you may have left in your wake as you journeyed through Time?

Brethren, we pray that you wake up from your slumber of indolence, after all, you may be the victim of the next Tsunami. (12)

Let us pray....

"Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." [Lk 23:34]

EPILOGUE

For our brothers and sisters who are not of the Christian Faith:
Brethren, take a look into the true Christian Faith (13). Do not be negatively influenced by those who have made a business of it (14), exploiting the weaknesses of souls seeking the True Light. Take a look! You may be surprised and may even decide that Christianity - as Jesus Christ brought to us - is "just right" for you!

Regardless of your decision - just know that you are loved!
