Those were the (translated) words of our Heavenly Mother on July 13, 1917, as She revealed a secret to Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco at what is known today as Fátima, Portugal.

We now read in the news (2) that:

On Saturday, October 7 (2A), there will be the recitation of the rosary with the Holy Father before the statue of Our Lady of Fátima. ...the Pope will lead the meditations on the mysteries of the rosary. Cardinals and bishops... will join him. The recitation of the fifth mystery will be led by Sr. Lucia... the sole survivor of the three children to whom Our Lady appeared in Fátima in 1917.

On Sunday, October 8, at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Square, Pope John Paul will preside at a Eucharistic concelebration during which he will read the Act of Entrustment to Mary in front of the statue of Our Lady of Fátima. All bishops present will join the Holy Father in the Act of Entrustment.

Is the world going to finally witness the fulfillment of the Consecration (3) which Our Lady requested on June 13, 1929? When speaking to Lucia at her convent chapel in Tuy, Spain, She said:

The moment has come in which God asks the Holy Father, in union with all the Bishops of the world, to make the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means...


AN EVALUATION

Let us not lose sight of the spiritual facts as we are swept by the excitement of the moment. There are two primary outcomes of such Entrustment. If they are understood, there will not be any disappointments. Please, kindly read on.


CASE 1

His Holiness goes ahead as planned and Entrusts the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary but without the specific mention of Russia, as it was clearly requested by our Heavenly Mother.

The faithful is lulled into the belief that "Now it is finally done", then, the world is faced with the Nuclear Holocaust (4).

Many feel betrayed because the Entrustment did not stop the nuclear holocaust as they thought it would.

The faithful should not feel that way: Our Heavenly Mother specifically requested Russia and it has never been done like that.


CASE 2

His Holiness, in a surprise move, specifically mentions Russia as part of the Act of Entrustment.

The faithful now feel certain that all requirements have been met and that all will truly be well now... then, the Nuclear Holocaust (4) takes place.

The faithful feel betrayed and completely abandoned by Heaven. Despair begins to set in. Faith has received a very severe blow - a blow worse than when the (alleged) Third Part of the Secret of Fátima was revealed and downplayed by the Vatican.

The faithful should not feel that way: As Sr. Lucia told her Spiritual Director Rev. Fr. José Bernardo Gonçalves (5) many decades ago:

Later, in an intimate communication, Our Lord complained to me, saying: They did not wish to heed my request. Like the King of France, they will repent and do it, but it will be late.

CONCLUSION

As The M+G+R Foundation has written repeatedly: All that we can do now is diminish the intensity of what is to befall mankind. We can no longer stop it.


The Act of Entrustment will indeed contribute to diminish the intensity of the events; thus, we should Praise God that our dear John Paul II will do so. However, the faithful should not have unrealistic expectations because such expectations will lead the faithful to serious disappointments.
