The
real problem is not Harry Potter
The problem is the lack of
proper spiritual formation
A very symbolic scene in a prequel of Harry Potter (1)
NOTE Added on December 2021. This document was originally
written in 2000-2001. Twenty
years have passed since then and the world is now celebrating the 20th
anniversary of the first film in the Harry Potter saga (2). As the message
of this document is still valid, we keep intact its contents and the
notes of 2003.
Furthermore, a prequel to the saga has visually confirmed (1), through the inverted
pentagram symbol, which (or who) is the source of inspiration for the
Harry Potter phenomenon.
As the world holds its breath awaiting the next installment of the
"Gospel according to Harry Potter" we, Christians, must take stock of
what is really taking place. It is time to take a long and hard look on
the mirror.
The product of the so-called New Age enlightenment (3) such as: Abortions,
Failed Marriages, Drug Dependency and Abuse, Promiscuity, Sexual
Perversions, Corrupt Government Officials, Amorality, etc. is the
result of a poorly spiritually formed society. The question is: Who is ultimately responsible for such poor
spiritual formation?
The answer should be clear for anyone who claims to be of the Christian
Faith:
If in nearly 2,000 years evil has
obviously completely gained the upper hand in the world, then, either Those who claim to have been entrusted by
Our Lord Jesus Christ to Evangelize the world have done poorly;
OR Jesus Christ lied to us; OR
evil is more powerful than God.
It does not require John the Baptist to resolutely state that the first option provides the only answer.
May God help any who may even fleetingly consider the second and third
options as possibilities or try to justify the abysmal failings
illustrated in the first option.
Are we being harsh?
We will answer such rhetorical question with additional questions: (a) Does anyone realize the enormous
supernatural power that the Sacraments of the Catholic Church, Orthodox
and Roman, have?; (b) Why has
the true Successor of Peter and Bishop of Rome (4) find it necessary to go
directly to the people via innumerable, demanding and exhausting
trips?; (c) Why has it been
necessary to shower the faithful with a multitude of necessary and
truly Holy Encyclicals in the last thirty plus years?
My brothers and sisters, what the last Roman Catholic Pope of These
Times has been trying to do is counteract the legacy of a corrupt
structure. Not a corrupt Church but a corrupt organizational structure
which, for nearly 2,000 years, has been primarily intent in amassing
financial and political power while the souls of the faithful, with
parched throats, went begging for a drop of the Living Waters that Our
Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, promised the Samaritan woman and, thus,
to all of us.
The failure of the Evangelization effort was never an option
when we consider that Our Lord Jesus Christ left us with such immense
trove of powerful supernatural treasures (5).
The consequences of this failure is what our dear John Paul II has been
trying to reverse since the moment he assumed the Chair of Peter (6).
May God the Father have Mercy on the members of the clergy and
religious orders (7)
who continue to lead a life of denial, refusing to utilize the
supernatural powers available in the Treasures left to fallen humanity
by Our Lord Jesus Christ. Such behavior is a blasphemy.
And you, brethren, do not cease to pray for the ever shrinking group of
holy members of the clergy and religious orders. They need, and deserve, the full prayerful
support of all Christians.

After the dust generated during the last Harry Potter release settled,
we read in a news report issued by Reuters on June 18, 2003 that:
Harry
Potter can breathe a bit easier these days... the lawyers, preachers
and family groups seem ready to give it a rest.
The last time Rowling released a book
-- 2001's "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" -- Harry became a
target of many Evangelical Christians who said the series of children's
novels spawned an unhealthy appetite for witchcraft and the occult.
Mathew Staver, a Christian attorney
in Orlando, sued a public library for encouraging children to read all
four Potter novels,.. Schools and libraries all over the country came
under attack.
Evangelical writer Richard Abanes'
2001 book "Harry Potter and the Bible" sold more than 100,000 copies
and established him as one of the leading critics of the novels. Two
years later, he thinks the momentum has run out on Potter bashing.
"I've moved on. I have other things to do," Abanes said.
Many conservative Christians have
come to embrace the books, in part drawn by a portrayal of evil that
has grown ... almost Biblical, with each book.
Steven Vander Ark is a librarian at a
Christian school in Michigan as well as webmaster of one of the largest
Harry Potter sites on the Internet... sees Biblical themes and
classically Christian symbols in Rowling's work... said Vander Ark.
"She is writing extremely moral books that show that evil is real and
you have to take a stand against it, even at great cost to yourself."
Well friends - there you have it. So much for "Christian zeal".
Would the faithful and leaders of Islam or Judaism have acted in the
same manner had the core of their Faith been directly undermined as
Christianity was? Of course not! The world would not have heard the end
of it!
Do you wonder why God does not listen to most prayers these days?
"When
you spread out your hands, I close my eyes to you; Though you pray the
more, I will not listen. Your hands are full of blood!" [Isaiah
1:15]
We recommend the reading of all of Chapter 1 of the Book of the Prophet
Isaiah - the world may find the reason and solution to its multiplying
problems right there.
Keep in mind - that one believes on God or not does not affect God nor
His Law.

The latest Masterpiece of J. K. Rowling - "Harry Potter and the Order
of the Phoenix" - has been released. We read in a news report by
Reuters that:
"Harry
Potter is a religion," said Connecticut teen-ager Caitlin Messina,
clutching her new Nimbus 2000 broomstick.
"It is the fastest-selling book we
have ever had," said a spokeswoman for WH Smith, Britain's largest
bookseller, after Saturday's publication of "Harry Potter and the Order
of the Phoenix" was billed as the world's largest book launch.
"They were going through the tills at
more than eight copies a second," she told Reuters. "Pre-orders were 10
times bigger than those for the last Harry Potter book."
"Rowling's fame - selling almost 200
million copies in 55 languages and 200 countries...", and
"The first two Potter movies have
grossed $1.8 billion worldwide..."
Christian brothers and sisters - if you do not believe that satan has
already been given (for those who have ears - Hear!) the run of the world by God,
perhaps you should reevaluate what your beliefs are and with which
religion they concur. Unless, of course, one wishes to believe that all
we are seeing is a good marketing effort with the endorsement of The
Vatican. [The next NOTE, published on February 6, 2003, will help the
reader understand what we mean by this last statement.]
June 27th Addendum: We
have just heard and seen J. K. Rowling on TV-EuroNews tell her adoring
crowd of children that Harry Potter will not reach adulthood. She
promised two more books and that will be the end of Harry Potter. It
seems that he will somehow die as the result of the last of his
adventures.
Harry Potter has been made the children's idol with the tacit approval
of the ruling group within the Roman Catholic Church (see NOTE below) -
someone to emulate in his witchcraft and wizardry. We presume then that
once the innocent audience has been thoroughly identified with him, he
will die... logically, setting the example for those innocent children
and young adults who may want to emulate him - as if they needed an
additional incentive to commit suicide!
Kyrie Eleison!

NOTES
(1) The image
corresponds to a very symbolic scene - centered on a large pentagram -
that has a central importance in the movie "Fantastic
Beasts and Where to Find" (2016), continuation (prequel) of the Harry
Potter saga. According to the time script of the saga, what happens in
that film (in a fictional 1920s) is part of the culture and historical
background of the character of Harry Potter.
In said scene of the movie, the
supreme court of justice of the wizards (characterized as of good will,
with possible exceptions) meet in its official headquarters, "The
Pentagram Office" - an auditorium whose center is a large pentagram drawn on the floor,
with the main point pointing to the throne of the supreme leader.
That scene in "The Pentagram
Office", underpinned with great visual symmetry around the
pentagram, is communicating the message that "whatever that symbol
represents is the center from which supernatural power, justice and
order emanate". As most
of the world knows, the pentagram (especially the inverted pentagram)
is the quintessential symbol of the
evil and Satanism, as much as the swastika
is the symbol of Nazism in
the western world after Hitler.
(2) Harry
Potter cast return to Hogwarts to mark 20th anniversary of first film,
exactly 20 years on from the US release of the first film, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone",
on 16 November 2001.
