CHAPTER 1
Purpose of This Work
Why yet another book on Marian Apparitions? Many talk, write and read
about Marian Apparitions but, are we really understanding the purpose
and urgency of these Apparitions and Messages? The obvious answer is:
"NO!" If we were, we would be acting on them, and if we were acting on
them the world would not continue to slip into darkness.
This work attempts to review, in a
schematic format, some key Marian Apparitions highlighting the
following elements:
1. When and Where did
She appear?
2. What was Her "Complaint"?
3. What was Her "Request"?
4. What did She "Prophesied"?
5. What was the "World Response"?
6. Consequences related to the "World Response".
The question that should then reverberate in our hearts as we read this
work is...
* ARE
WE GOING TO LISTEN TO HER NOW ? *
As you read on, please, do so with the following questions in mind...
- What would have
happened if Noah had not listened to God?
- What would have happened if the King of Ninive had
not listened to God through Jonas?
- What about Lot and his family (minus disobedient
wife)?
- What would have happened if John the Baptist had
not obeyed the promptings of the Holy Spirit?
The Old Testament is full of human misdeeds, Heavenly warnings and
subsequent action by Heaven. Are the times different now? This writer
has been told repeatedly: "With the death of St. John the New Testament
was completed and no further revelations are needed".
That is true! No further revelations are needed. However, Marian
Apparitions
do not give us any new
revelations. They take place
to call us to live the 1,900 +
year old revelations! They also remind us of the consequences
should we continue to refuse, as a civilization, to try to live the
Gospel to the fullness of our individual abilities.
Do we think that we are really immune to Heaven admonishments and
punishments? That that could only happen to Noah's neighbors? To Lot's
neighbors? Their neighbors thought so too and so did the residents of
Jerusalem toward the end of the First Century A.D. when it was
destroyed by the Roman Legions.
Mary has clearly stated, through Her apparitions of the second half of
the Twentieth Century, that these are Her last apparitions on earth:
"I have come to call the world to
conversion for the last time. Afterwards, I will not appear any more on
this earth" (Medjugorje - May 2, 1982). This
statement is in
harmony with the messages through other apparition locations and with
the Holy Scriptures
[Rev. 12: 4-7 & 12-17]
If we analyze Her key apparitions, prophecies, response and follow up
events, we will realize that Her accuracy is flawless
and absolutely coherent with the
Old and New Testament.
Therefore, if She is always on target, even as blind as we are to the
supernatural, shouldn't we listen carefully and obey Her 'Last Call'?
We cannot separate Mary from Jesus. We cannot separate Jesus, Our Lord
and Our God, from His Creation and all that takes place in it -
politics included!
Satan has tried to lead the faithful away from Christ, therefore he
also attempts to cloud all Marian messages and confound the faithful.
This is why She continuously pleads with Her children to "Pray so that
you may comprehend the purpose of my visits".
And pray we must, for as a last ditch effort, the enemies of God are
even tampering and redoing old publications of Marian Apparitions and
altering current messages in order to cloud their direct relationship
to world events. In this manner, Her apparitions and apocalyptic
warnings will be reduced to "Courtesy Visits" from the Virgin Mary to
"give us hope and good cheer".
We must understand that the only hope that we have is to follow Her
instructions:

Return to My Son. Live the Gospel as
Jesus preached it. +
+ The
Gospel has not changed! Return
to the Sacraments! +
Soothing talk that encourages us to bring the Gospel of Jesus down to
our base human level will not work. We need to strive to bring our
wretched natures up to the level of the Gospel!
Every legitimate Marian message exhorts us, directly or indirectly to:
- Prayer
- Participate in the Divine Liturgy
- Partake of the Sacraments frequently, especially
Reconciliation and Communion.
- Perform Acts of Reparation.
- Do Penance (Fasting being specifically requested
now.)
In more general terms:
Live the Faith
that we profess
We do not have to go around to see which priest believes in what
apparition. We do not have to confirm every apparition ourselves. We
must follow the key messages of all apparitions. Jesus Christ Himself
asked us to do so almost 2,000 years ago.
This writer, as a scientist, with an advanced engineering degree from
the University of California at Berkeley, a University which, at the
time of his graduation, had thirteen Nobel Prize winners in the
faculty, having done research under the auspices of the Atomic Energy
Commission and having lived as a Pagan for the first 42 years of his
life, humbly advise you as follows:
After studying in depth
the Key Marian Apparitions, the confirmed supernatural events that
accompany them and the prophetic precision of "the lady that keeps
appearing", it would be total insanity to ignore those messages - and
most especially - the level of urgency which accompanies them.
May the Holy Spirit illuminate your soul brightly as you try to
understand the significance of the visits of Our Heavenly Mother.
