Points to Ponder About

The purpose of Points to Ponder About was to stimulate thinking that would draw the disoriented Faithful back to God and away from the hypocritical duplicity of some religious institutions which are destroying the little faith left on earth. (For a more detailed explanation, see Points to Ponder About - Purpose). What used to be posted in this section has been integrated in For Your Information and Reference.

Note: This 'Point to Ponder About' section was prepared in the years 2005-2009. Some linked documents external to this domain may have been removed from the Net, or moved to different locations, since then.

On May 28th (see below) we posted on this page the following:

Do you wonder... if Jesus said, responding to the scribes and the Pharisees who asked: Why doth your master eat and drink with publicans and sinners? [Mark 2:16] :

They that are well have no need of a physician, but they that are sick. For I came not to call the just, but sinners. [Mark 2:17]

How come would Paul give the following advice to the Corinthians?

But now I have written to you, not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother, be a fornicator, or covetous, or a server of idols, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner: with such a one, not so much as to eat. [1 Cor. 5:11]

We can give you the answer but, this time, we would like to hear from our readers what they think the answer is.

We received a few responses and we must say that all of them had quite a few correct elements in them. As we explain it - as we see it - those who wrote will immediately recognize the correct elements in their response.

Let us go to Luke 19 and we will meet Zacheus - chief of the Publicans. Since he was short, yet, he was seeking to see Jesus, he climbed atop a tree. Once Jesus saw him He said: Zacheus, make haste and come down; for this day I must abide in thy house. to which Zacheus responded by making haste... and came down; and received him with joy. To which the self appointed righteous criticized Him by "...saying, that he was gone to be a guest with a man that was a sinner."

Of course, Jesus responded: This day is salvation come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

On Mark 2 we have a similar situation. What is not as obvious is that Levi was also "seeking Jesus", i.e. seeking the Living Word of God. However, since Levi got up and followed Jesus when Jesus told him: Follow me, he may have not been seeking as Zacheus did, but his soul seeking indeed was, and once he heard the call, he followed the Living Word of God.

Logically - when the lost ones start seeking or following they must be assisted Home as the Father did with the prodigal son. (1) That is precisely what Jesus was doing.

Now we have Paul saying in 1 Cor 5:11: But now I have written to you, not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother, be a fornicator, or covetous, or a server of idols, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner: with such a one, not so much as to eat.

As many of the responders pointed out - the key here is the qualifier of the individual: "...any man that is named a brother..." That individual had responded to a call and was in the fold - a brother - but obviously his response was of the type we read in the Parable of the Seed in Luke 8: 11-14.

...and with such a one, not so much as to eat.

We pray that this little excercise has shown those who tried it how important and rewarding is to ponder and meditate upon the Sacred Scriptures - thus how tremendously edifying can the Mediated Rosary be. (2)

Drop a line to us and let us know why you think that the apparent incoherence is another example of Biblical coherence. Please keep your response at no more that one page. Do you wonder... what Jesus meant when He said:

But I tell you the truth: it is expedient to you that I go: for if I go not, the Paraclete will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. [John 16:7]

But when the Paraclete cometh, whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceedeth from the Father, he shall give testimony of me. [John 15:26].

and Paul meant when he said:

And because you are sons, God hath sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying: Abba, Father. [Galatians 4:6]

Ponder about it......

Do you wonder... how is it possible that God would have such reputation as reflected by Moses words, thus: Moses stood with him, calling upon the name of the Lord.... Who renderest the iniquity of the fathers to the children, and to the grandchildren, unto the third and fourth generation. [Exodus 34:7]

It must be because God Himself had said: I am the Lord thy God, mighty, jealous, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me: [Exodus 20:5]

But.... "What kind of God is that?" - many have asked. Thus, to force-justify such incoherence many have made a separation of God: The God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament.

No, no, no.... "Coherence" is the "adhesive" of the Most Holy Trinity. There is no such a thing of the God of the Old Testament or the God of the New Testament or the God of Mercy or the God of Wrath nor the "Buy one God and get Three" - should we want to sound as ridiculous as those who separate the Old and New Testament in such manner.

Before the advent of the Word of God - Jesus Christ - with the implied messages of: "What part of what We have been telling you for the past four thousand years you do not understand" or "Read My lips!" God had to communicate to His children in a manner the people of each time could understand.

What God meant (and still means!) in Exodus 20:5, and which Moses invoked in Exodus 34:7 was: If you live outside my Law thus, reject Me, the (automatic) consequences that you will bring upon yourself will last several generations.

For example: We are not finished paying for having ignored the Divine instructions (1) clearly given in Fatima. When we pay the final installment it will be somewhere between the third and fourth generation (today's generation is equivalent to about 25 years).

In a physical world parallel Imagine if we said: If you reject my teachings about gravity and internal injuries you and your family will suffer greatly.

Of course, they will when you try to fly off the roof of a ten story building....! After all, you have a wife, ten kids, a mortgage, and in debt over your head and no health insurance.

Once again - Perfect Coherence is "the middle name" of the Holy Scriptures and "the signature" of a Perfect God.

Do you still wonder... why God, the Father, issued His Word, the Son, to Create the Universe to then send His Spirit to vivify man? (1)

Because God is Love and Love desires to share all that is good.... and to share.... one needs someone to share it with.

Tragically we (2) have not learned that lesson either since.... as we clog our arteries with rich food, destroy our livers and kidneys with alcohol and drug abuses, pollute our lungs with the emissions of "our great progress"... five to ten million people die every year because they are too poor to live while most of the world population live in abysmal misery.

Sorry... this is not the local parish where the congregation is massaged with politically correct messages to see if they drop an extra buck in the collection plate.... THIS IS the Apocalypse and Thanks Be to God for that!

Happy Trinity Sunday!

(2) Make no mistake - miguel de Portugal was well included in that "we" up to 1985 and although he had been marked for These Times from all Eternity many did pray for him as God required for his conversion. May this serve as a reminder why we MUST pray for those of the Elect who still are deaf and blind so that may awaken from their slumber.

Do you ever wonder... what truly sets the Elect (1) apart from the rest? Wonder no more!

(1) Who are the Elect?

Do you ever wonder... if Thomas and his successors (those whom were consecrated to the priesthood through him) were ever able to forgive anyone's sins considering....

He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained. Now Thomas, one of the twelve, who is called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. [John 20: 21-24]

and further....

..... was Thomas Blessed considering....

Then he saith to Thomas: Put in thy finger hither, and see my hands; and bring hither thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing. Thomas answered, and said to him: My Lord, and my God. Jesus saith to him: Because thou hast seen me, Thomas, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and have believed. [John 20: 27-29]

The above is no to cast doubt on the Scriptures; it simply is to provoke thinking and salutary questioning so that the Holy Spirit of God may rejoice in illuminating those who truly seek the truth and not follow blindly. If we were to follow blindly, why would the Holy Spirit of God was to descend upon all believers?

Published on May 6th, 2008

Do you wonder... why in many of the prayers, at least in English, after a petition and/or invocation it is prayed thus: "....through Jesus Christ." - which is wrong?

Such error is the result of a combination of poor translation (1) laced with poor Evangelization. (2)

What did Jesus say, over and over again?

He often said "...ask the Father in My Name" and, in one instance He said: "....ask Me anything in My Name".

How did this error got past the "Guardians of the Faith"? (3) It filtered down as the result of a total misunderstanding of: "Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me." [John 14:6]

One thing is to "ask the Father" and another totally different thing is "go to the Father."

Of course Jesus IS the Only Way (in spite of what Escrivá (4) wanted others to believe) - but why?

He is the only Way because of the reality of the hypostatic union (5) - wherein Jesus is God and Man. [We can proclaim that, not because of the Council of Nicea, which was just a political ploy of Constantine to keep the Empire together using Christianity as "glue" (6), ruled so; we can proclaim that because we know it is the Truth as you will now see.]

Jesus Is the Word of God made flesh. That "flesh" had to (humanly) suffer and die to later resurrect and open the Gates of Heaven to the Elect upon His ascension. Gates which had been closed since Adam and Eve traded a Divine Command for a full belly (sounds like a familiar habit, doesn't it?) (7)

Therefore, because of His flesh dying and resurrecting - He - the flesh - IS the Way.

Now, then, addressing His Divine component : He IS the Word of God through which the Universe was Created. (8)

Since the Word of God instructs us, assists us and inspire us to get back to the Father (9); thus, - He - the Divine Word - IS the Way.

It is really that simple.

If the Masters (10) of the New Temple - the Vatican - would have paid more attention to the One they claim to serve instead of worrying about other matters...

i.e. 7 Hypocrites, well hath Isaias prophesied of you, saying: 8 This people honoureth me with their lips: but their heart is far from me. 9 And in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines and commandments of men. [Matthew 15:7-9]

...His children would have been better instructed and the suffering in the world would have been greatly reduced by it.

But do not take our word for it.... take His....!

Matthew 23

13 But woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you shut the kingdom of heaven against men, for you yourselves do not enter in; and those that are going in, you suffer not to enter. 14 Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites: because you devour the houses of widows, praying long prayers. For this you shall receive the greater judgment. 15 Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you go round about the sea and the land to make one proselyte; and when he is made, you make him the child of hell twofold more than yourselves.

23 Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you tithe mint, and anise, and cummin, and have left the weightier things of the law; judgment, and mercy, and faith. These things you ought to have done, and not to leave those undone.

25 Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you make clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but within you are full of rapine and uncleanness.

27 Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you are like to whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear to men beautiful, but within are full of dead men's bones, and of all filthiness.

29 Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; that build the sepulchres of the prophets, and adorn the monuments of the just,

Now, let us get down to the business of serving Him as He truly deserves, and should have been served for the last 1600 years and was not.

Just because the Vatican is the Capital of "The State of Hypocrisy" does not mean that we do not have an individual responsibility to God to serve Him as He deserves and expects to be served (11) - and to issue these reminders to the Elect (12), wherever they may be, is part of miguel's function.

If someone who does not know us think that the above is just another example of the "faceless miguel" (13) embarking on a side ego trip while navigating through the seas of his "Alternative Reality" - think again! It was during Adoration at the Hour of Mercy of today that all of the above became crystal clear. The ONLY claim miguel may make is that, immediately after Adoration, he sat down and wrote the above - the credit and Glory are God's, the typos are ours...

And to think that some people - bathed is a sea of false piety - want to return to "The good old days" (14). Lord have Mercy!

Do you wonder... why so many prayers are ineffective? Yes, we have covered that in general terms when we quoted the first Chapter of Isaiah (1); however, there is another angle to it and that is covered in the Acts of the Apostles 19: 11- 16 (2) .

Perhaps it can be called "falsification of piety" . Just "mouthing" the Holy Name of Jesus does not work. However, using His Holy Name with true Faith [Mark 9:37-39] works, even if one is not part of what is now exclusively considered His Church. (3)

(1) First Chapter of Isaiah
(2) Acts of the Apostles 19: 11-16
11 And God wrought by the hand of Paul more than common miracles. 12 So that even there were brought from his body to the sick, handkerchiefs and aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the wicked spirits went out of them. 13 Now some also of the Jewish exorcists who went about, attempted to invoke over them that had evil spirits, the name of the Lord Jesus, saying: I conjure you by Jesus, whom Paul preacheth. 14 And there were certain men, seven sons of Sceva, a Jew, a chief priest, that did this. 15 But the wicked spirit, answering, said to them: Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you? 16 And the man in whom the wicked spirit was, leaping upon them, and mastering them both, prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
(3) Regardless of what the Vatican may claim. Jesus' crystal clear words preempts anything contrary proposed by the Vatican

Do you wonder... why we are told by the Holy Scriptures that when Mary said to Jesus, when He had stayed behind in Jerusalem: "Son, why hats the done so to us? behold they father and I have sought the sorrowing". He said to them: "How is it that you sought me? did you not know, that I must be about my father's business?" and "they understood not the word that he spoke unto them?" [Luke 2:48-50]

Didn't they know who Jesus was? Didn't they know the Jesus' Father was God and that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit? Make no mistake - they did know!

They did not understand not because Mary and Joseph did not know that Jesus Father was God; it was because it is incomprehensible to a human mind - without having meditated upon such reality [Luke 2: 51] - that a boy 12 years old could be interacting with the Temple doctors, truly wise men by their standards, who became astonished at Jesus' wisdom and his answers.

Do you wonder... why Jesus stated: But yet the Son of man, when he cometh, shall he find, think you, faith on earth? [Luke 18:8]

Because He knew that: For if in the green wood they do these things, what shall be done in the dry? [Luke 23:31]

[Said after He warned the women of Jerusalem thusly: 28 But Jesus turning to them, said: Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not over me; but weep for yourselves, and for your children. 29 For behold, the days shall come, wherein they will say: Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that have not borne, and the paps that have not given suck. 30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains: Fall upon us; and to the hills: Cover us.]

If you do not know why, we will tell you: He knew that the Evangelization would have failed since He was not going to return until: "...this gospel of the kingdom, shall be preached in the whole world, for a testimony to all nations, and then shall the consummation come." [Matthew 24:14]

The true coherence of the Holy Scriptures is simply stunning.
